Twinkle Lights!

Twenty-some days since
i left this bed companion
verglas cobwebs string-
swing from floor to door

The Sweet Tart tang of
unwashed me sloughing
snowflakes of sweat and grief
into crumb-drenched sheets

My will may have abandoned
me but in my skating mind
(i cling to linguistic comforts
poetically)

From underneath my pillow-
scape i fingerknit slick
getaways (to a land less
buried in arctic realities)

This is no fa la la la la la
family-friendly celebration
my dreidel dreidel dreidel
spins like a magic oilless fire
then crashes and burns on our
ant-dancing kitchen floor

Fantastical plastic smiles of
enjoyment topple me like
a carrot nose and a corncob pipe once did--

now my frozen moments are melted,
by reverberations of
winter tintinnabulations
and our menorah twee-twinkle lights!

Swirled with tidings
of forgiveness--
forget-me-nots
and silver glistening....
