ANDREAS DUNCAN

Sunday.

Today is the burial of Letizia's brother.

I already asked Sabrina to process the burial ceremony of Kit Gerault Mendez, specifically, my order that this kid should be buried in our family's private cemetery.

Burial became an important ceremony to our family ever since 1662 when Eduardé Alexandros Ramsey orchestrated a grand burial ceremony to Helga Lois Braithwaite — his wife, when she passed away, and it was passed to the preceding generations.

Eduardé Alexandros Ramsey and Helga Lois Braithwaite-Ramsey started the Ramsey Empire. All our family wealth and businesses started when Eduardé ventured in jewelry collection, until he met Helga who was also a big collector of expensive and rare jewelries. They together expanded the business until the business became popular all over Europe.

Sabrina was hesitant to grant my request to bury the kid in our cemetery but she doesn't have a choice, I didn't give her one. That kid may not belong to our family, but this is the least I can do to help Letizia.

Kit Gerault Mendez already have his own Mausoleum and later, he will be brought there and rest for all over eternity.

"Where is she?" I asked Marie when I came to the funeral hall, I couldn't spot Letizia anywhere.

"Hindi rin namin alam, Sir." Marie answered politely.

I watched Klaud walk to my direction and gave him a questioning look. "Did you see her?"

"She's in their old house, Mr. Ramsey. They followed her silently. I told them not to stop the woman from going nor do anything that might hurt her more."

"How long has she been there?"

"About 4 hours, Sir."

I nodded and drove to the house. It only took me almost 10 minutes to arrive. I took a deep breath before entering the house and looked for Letizia in the rooms.

When I opened the 2nd room, I saw her laying on the bed while hugging Kit Gerault's clothes. Even if I don't go inside, it's enough for me to know that she's still crying and calling her brother's name.

I leaned to the door jamb and watched her grieve. In moments like this, I always choose to be careful and understanding to the grieving people, not because it's how it should be, but it's because I understand their feelings and being bothered is the least they want.

After waiting for another 10 minutes, I decided to call out the attention of Letizia.

"Hi," I greeted but she didn't respond, she did not even take a glance at my direction. "It's your brother's burial day, Letizia. Everybody is looking for you, they all need you there."

"Ayoko..." she said.

"Hey," I sat on the bed close to her face. "Your brother needs your presence there, Kit won't be complacent if he finds out that you're not there for him for the last time, sweetheart."

"Hindi ko kaya..." she answered sobbing and tightened his embrace with the clothes her brother had left behind. "Nasasaktan ako, Andreas..."

"I know," I reflexively reached over to her cheek to gently wipe away the stream of tears that were still gushing from her puffy eyes. "I understand how sorrowful you've become over your brother's demise, babe. Never will it be simple to cope with and swallow the truth that he's gone. You will always be haunted and tormented by the memories you two shared. But this is the last moment you will see your brother physically. Please don't take it from you. Be brave for him, sweetie."
