Isla had to get out of her house. It was only noon and she knew she couldn't stand being in there any longer. Her house was chaotic. Her step dad and her mom had been arguing all morning, about god knows what. All morning Isla had heard screaming and shouting, and knew it was one of those days. Every so often there would be a day where Isla couldn't stand staying at home, which would result in her packing her bags and texting her friends.
To her, her friends were her safe place. They were always there for her, and looking out for her. Although only half of them really knew what was happening at home, they all still tried their hardest to make everything better.
And they did. If Isla didn't have her friends around, there's a chance she wouldn't even be alive and breathing on this planet. Her friends are like her oxygen, she feeds off of them to keep her alive and well.
