It was about a week into the triplet's winter break, and the three were currently home alone.
Matt was laying in his bed watching Tikok, while Chris and Nick were in the kitchen grabbing snacks.
"So.. how are things with Scar?" Nick asked, breaking the silence between the two.
Nick was pretty confused on the whole situation with why Chris was even dating Scar. Chris had told him not long ago that he had feelings for Isla, and he even almost told her. And then he got in his head and chickened out, then got a girlfriend. It made no sense to Nick.
"It's fine." Chris shrugged, grabbing a Pepsi out of his fridge.
Nick nodded. "Interesting."
Chris chuckled. "Interesting? What's that mean?"
Nick shrugged. "I don't know, I guess I just find it interesting that your dating her even though your so clearly in love with you best friend." He murmured.
Chris shook his head. "Nope. Not anymore, I'm over her. I like Scar."
Nick could see right through him though. "Come on. I'm your brother, I can tell your lying." Nick smirked.
"I'm not. Okay? Just leave it." Chris replied, this time more defensive, and Nick knew to quit it.
Nick nodded.
"So, how are things with Jay?" Chris giggled, changing the subject.
Nick's cheeks went red immediately. "I don't know what your talking about."
Chris shrugged. "It's okay to have a little crush."
Nick crossed his arms. "I don't have a crush."
"Hey, there's no shame about it." Chris grinned.
"I don't have a crush!!" Nick exclaimed, as Matt walked into the room.
"What are you guys talking about?" Matt asked, looking up from his phone to his two brothers.
"Nothing." Chris and Nick said in unison.
Matt laughed. "Sureee." He teased, clearly not buying it.
"Now tell me whats actually going on." Matt rolled his eyes.
Chris looked over to Nick and mouthed, 'can I?' And Nick sighed.
"Chris keeps bugging me about a stupid crush, which is nonexistent might I add." Nick glared at Chris at the last part.
He giggled at Nick. "Sure, whatever you say buddy."
Matt grinned. "Who is it?"
Nick frowned, and turned to Chris to try and stop him, but it was too late.
"Jay!" Chris revealed, grinning.
"CHRIS I SWEAR TO GOD." Nick ran over to Chris and slapped him.
"Damn! So defensive, for what."
Matt furrowed his eyebrows. "Really? Jay? I wouldn't have guessed that."
Chris scoffed. "Are you serious? I once walked into the two of them, and Jay was asleep in Nicks lap. Besides that though, you can always see how Nick looks at him with goo goo eyes." Chris snorted.
"On a serious note though, do you actually like him Nick? I'm not asking as a joke or anything, I wont make fun of you." Matt promised.
Nick knew Matt was telling the truth, he wouldn't ever tell Jay. But the thing was, Nick didn't even know if he did. He found himself thinking about Jay a lot more than he'd like to admit, but Jay is his best friend. He can't like his best friend. That's weird. And who knows if Jay was even gay?
Well, he had cried in his arms before about being "different" and not liking other girls, Nick thought. But even then. He could be, but he's definitely going to need time to figure that out for himself.
Nick thought about it for a second. "I don't know." He answered, truthfully.
Matt nodded.
"So, any further details?" Chris smirked.
Nick glared at his younger triplet.
"Don't make him talk if he doesn't want to." Matt reminded.
Nick sighed. "No, it's fine. I don't really know what to say, I mean I guess that there could be something going on, but I don't know if the feelings are mutual."
Chris grinned, and jumped up and down. "So you admit it? There's feelings?"
"Chill out Chris, you look like your having way too much fun with this, you look like a doofus right now." Matt muttered.
Nick's cheeks turned red. "I think there's always been feelings there." He admitted, looking at the floor.
His two brother looked over at each other and smiled softly.
"Don't worry Nick, no matter what happens I'm sure it'll be okay between you two." Matt assured.
Nick nodded, looking up at his two brothers.
Matt looked over to Chris. "I forgot to tell you this earlier.. but during the Christmas Eve thing where we brought everyone over, Scar was kind of.. rude to Isla." He stuttered, trying to find the right words.
Chris's eyebrows furrowed. "What happened?"
"Well.. she was kind of giving Isla shit for liking the bracelet. She said it was because she liked you or something." Matt chose his words carefully. "It was almost like she had waited until you left to say something, like she didn't want you to see her say it."
"Really? I'll talk to her about it." Chris shrugged, not very fazed.
Nick and Matt glanced over to each other, both thinking the same thing. Usually, if anything like this happened with Isla Chris's immediate reaction would be to beat the shit out of them. But this time, he didn't see very concerned. He didn't stick up for Isla like he usually would.
"Yeah." Nick nodded.
