Chris and Scar's relationship was one that was a bit.. odd. It was complicated, to say the least. While Chris was in Scar's touch, he couldn't help but think of Isla. He honestly felt horrible for doing so.
He knew that Scar deserved better, but no matter how hard Chris tried, he had no feelings towards the girl. Nothing.
See, when your dating somebody, your chest is supposed to flutter from their touch. Your heart rate is supposed to go up. Your cheeks are supposed to go red, your supposed to get so nervous you can barely talk to them.
But Chris didn't feel any of that.
Why couldn't he just break up with her? That was what all of his friends and his brothers asked, after all.
But this thing is, he couldn't.
As horrible as it sounded, now that Chris thought about it Scar was pretty much a distraction for him. She was supposed to make him stop thinking about Isla, but if he was being honest Chris knew nobody could do that.
Chris just wished so badly his feelings for Isla would just go away. He knew that they never could, but boy did he wish it.
He wished he could talk to her without getting nervous, he wished his cheeks didn't turn an embarrassing hue when she talked to him, he wished he didn't long for her touch. He wished that one day all of those feelings would magically go away. But they won't.
A knock on the door released Chris from his thoughts, he yelled 'I'll get it!' And ran to open the door for Scar.
He had invited her over, and they had planned to watch movies. That was what they usually did.
Once Scar saw Chris after he opened the door for her, she grinned and took his hand. She lead him upstairs to his room, and they laid down on his bed.
Chris grabbed the remote to turn something on, and scar comfortably rested her head on Chris's shoulder. Chris wasn't expecting her to do that, and moved away quickly.
Scar frowned. "Is something wrong?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at the boy.
"Oh. Uhm, sorry. There's nothing wrong." He shrugged, turning on his Tv.
"Alright." She shrugged too.
After about 20 minutes into the movie, Scar turned to Chris and kissed his cheek. He didn't turn away from the movie though, he wasn't in the mood.
She kept kissing him, this time on his lips, making him look away from the movie. But yet, he didn't kiss back.
Then she did something that made Chris freak out immediately. She took her hand, and put it under his shirt and ran it up his chest.
He separated from her immediately.
She looked at him, furrowing her eyebrows. "What's wrong?"
Chris scratched the back of his neck, not really knowing how to put it. "Im not really.. ready for that yet." He told her.
Scar sighed. "Let me guess, it's because of Isla, huh?"
Chris's eyes widened. Technically, he didn't kiss he back maybe because of Isla.. but when she put her hand up his shirt, that freaked him out.
"No, no no. It's not that. I don't get why you always ask about her, or think that somethings going on with her."
Scar scoffed. "Have you seen the way you look at her? You always talk about her too."
Chris didn't even know how to defend himself, he knew she was right.
"I'm sorry, okay? I'm just not ready." He changed the subject.
"Oh, so you don't wanna talk about Isla? So you just changed the subject. Okay then." She muttered, grabbing her phone then angrily leaving Chris's room.
Chris didn't even bother to try and stop her. Would would he say? He knew he couldn't deny it. Besides, he could just apologize over text later..

Isla opened her front door, happy to be home finally. She had just gotten home from hanging out with Chris at the park, and definitely felt like the day had distracted her from everything.Isla took off her shoes, and headed to her kitchen to say hi to her mom.
"Hey mom. Sorry I was late, I was hanging out with Chris." Isla explained, and her mom nodded.
"Hey honey. It's fine."
"What are you making?" Isla asked, looking over to the pot on their stovetop.
Isla's mom almost never made diner. She always was too drunk, too high, or just too lazy. But, the last week she's changed a lot. It's almost like she's back to the person she once was, before she met Isla's stepfather. Isla feels like their bond has been growing a lot recently.
"Im making pasta." Her mom smiled, and Isla
nodded. She looked down to her wrists, fiddling with the bracelet Chris had gotten her for Christmas, the one that had her biological fathers name on it.Her mom looked to her wrist. "What's that? I don't remember you having that."
Isla looked up to her mom. "Oh. Chris got it for me for Christmas." She smiled.
"Lemme see."
Isla lifted up her wrist, and her mother took a better look at the bracelet. She smiled when she saw what it said.
"That Chris boy sure does care for you, hm?" Her mom went to stirring her sauce for dinner.
Isla nodded, her cheeks turning red. "Yeah, I guess he does."
Her mom turns back to her daughter. "Is he the one?" She asks.
Isla was not expecting that question.
"Huh, what do you mean?" She asked, even though she knew what her mom meant.
"I mean, is he the boy for you?" Her mom looked at her knowingly. "You know what I mean."
Isla looked down to the bracelet again, not looking her mom in the eyes when she answered her.
"He's somebody else's."
