On Christmas Day, Isla and the Sturniolo family decided to go ice skating.
It was a tradition at least once a year to go ice skating in the winter, and Isla hated it.
She loved spending time with the Sturniolos of course, but she hated the actual skating part. She couldn't ice skate, and was horrible at it. No matter how hard she tried, she would just slip and fall.
Every year she would just use the kiddie buckets to hold onto so she could balance, and the triplets teased her for it. But this year she was determined to learn. Chris promised her he would teach her, since he was pretty good at ice skating. Chris used to play ice hockey, and so he definitely knew a thing or two about how to skate well.
"So Iz, are you ready to learn how to ice skate?" Chris asked, grinning at Isla.
She was getting ready to go soon at their house, and since the skating trip wasn't planned in advance, Isla didn't have anything warm enough to wear. Chris let her borrow his hoodie, a beanie and some sweatpants which were definitely too big.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna suck though, you know that right?" Isla sighed.
"Oh come on, don't give up yet. I'm sure you'll finally get it." Chris assured.
"Are you sure about that? Because last time I fell straight on my ass." Isla muttered, which lead Chris laughing.
Isla glared at Chris. "It's not funny! I was bruised for weeks."
"Oh, whatever. You'll live." He continued laughing.
As the two walked out of his room, Matt and Nick did a double take on Isla's choice of outfit.
"Um. No offense, but isn't that like.. not your size?" Matt asked trying to be as polite as possible, and Nick held in his laughter.
"Oh. Yeah, their Chris's. I didn't have any warm enough clothes." She shrugged, not thinking much of it. As she walked off, Nick and Matt turned to Chris.
"Dude, you are so down bad it's hilarious." Matt snickered, teasing his younger triplet brother.
"Whatever." Chris rolled his eyes in annoyance, which lead Matt then soon after Nick into a fit of laughter.
The three brothers then walked to their minivan, and hopped in. Jimmy was driving, while Marylou sat in the passenger seat. Nick and Matt sat in the middle row, and Chris and Isla sat in the back row together as normal.
"So dad, are you gonna try skating again?" Matt asked, since his dad hadn't skated in years. Every year he said no, and the last time he had done it he fell and got injured.
Jimmy chuckled. "No, son. I'm not trying to break my back." He murmured.
Marylou chuckled. "Me neither. I'm afraid I'll get hurt."
"Yeah I get. I would've just sat out today, but someone forced me to go." Isla glared at Chris.
"Im sure you'll get it this time." He chuckled. "Hopefully you won't fall on your ass again!" He teased, which lead to Isla hitting his arm.
"Wait, your actually gonna try this time? Your not just gonna use the kiddie things to help?" Nick asked, turning around in his seat to face Isla.
"I guess." Isla shrugged.
Nick gasped dramatically. "I never thought this day would come." He shook his head in disbelief, and Isla rolled her eyes.
Once they arrived there, they paid to get in and then Isla and the triplets put on their ice skates together.
