Valentines Day was coming up, and usually, Chris wasn't the biggest fan of it. He thought it was just some stupid holiday used to get people to buy cards and candy, but this time, he wanted to actually celebrate it for once. Well, not by himself of course- with Isla.
He asked his brothers for advice on what to get her though, since they always had his back, and always gave him good advice on Isla.
His brothers told Chris to just get her roses, which they said were the most 'romantic flower.' But Chris usually wasn't the most romantic kind; he never had been, and figured he never would be.
Until Isla. Specifically, the day since he asked her to be his girlfriend. Since then, he's done every little thing he can to try and make her happy, and when he succeeds, boy does it make him happy too.
Chris had often found himself doing things he never would have expected- texting Isla to show her stuff whenever it reminded him of her, bringing her small gifts every time he saw her, he even began to find himself becoming more touchy with her- he craved her gentle touch.
But Chris had never been the touchy kind. He always found it to be cringy, or just weird when he saw couples in public. He always thought to himself that he didn't want that, until he actually experienced it.
And now, he couldn't get enough of the stuff that he used to just call 'cringy couple things.' Hell, he wanted to spend every moment with Isla now that she was finally his.
Just like his brothers told him to, Chris bought red roses for Isla. He also decided to buy her favorite chocolates, making a basket of assorted candy. Inside the basket, there was a card where inside Chris said that he loved her, and loved spending every moment with her etc.
Chris had asked out Isla on a date, and had told her that he was going to take her out to a restaurant again, which they had done last time as their first date.
What he didn't tell her though, was that he brought her the basket of chocolate and roses. When he knocked on her front door, Isla's eyes immediately lit up at the sight of her boyfriend grinning, holding the thoughtful gift in his hands.
"Chris! You didn't have to." Isla shook her head, grinning like a child on Christmas morning.
"I wanted to." He smiled softly at her, and leaned in to give her a kiss.
Before actually kissing her though, he asked the same question as always, "May I?" To which Isla would nod, just like always.
The boy fully leaned in, connecting his lips with hers.
Once they separated though, Isla told Chris to wait one minute, and left Chris on her doorstep to go grab something from her room.
When she came back, she came back holding a card. Inside the card was two things- a note containing all the love and appreciation that Isla had towards Chris that she could write into words, and two tickets to see his favorite artist of all time, Lil Skies.
