Gelma came off the taxi immediately they arrived before the hospital her mom was in. She stood out watching the building, tears full in her eyes. She didn't want to let them fall, she was here for her mom and her brothers. Gelma took in a deep breath. She finally had the money why was she still feeling useless, why was she feeling this way? She balled her hands into fists and walked in. She would forget about him, what he said, the rejection, the hurt she felt, she would forget it all and be happy for the money she had. Her mother was going to undergo chemotherapy, there was going to be a chance for her stem cell surgery. She was going to be happy and not let anyone one cease her happiness this moment.
"Gelma". Jerry saw his sister walk into the room their mom was. "The bills Gelma...they came to ask for a deposit before further treatment can be administered".
"Where is Jared?" She asked ignoring his plea.
"He went to check if he could gather some money". Jerry answered.
"There is no need to worry. I have made payments. Mom will be moved to a private room. She will be taken good care of". Gelma said.
"What? How we have no money". Jerry couldn't believe that they could afford all that.
"I made a promise to take care of you guys and mom when dad left". Gelma said. "I am living up to my promise Jerry". She said and sat by her mother.
She looked peaceful while asleep. Gelma smiled wryly seeing her.
"Go home and get a shower. Bring Jared with you. I would cook before you arrive. The private room has a kitchen". Gelma said.
"Are you okay?" Jerry could not help but ask, she looked dejected.
"I am fine". She answered even without starring at him. "Just do I say Jerry. Everything would be fine". She assured him this time gazing at him so she could wipe away any doubts on his mind. They weren't supposed to find out about how she provided for them.

"Nathan what's with you? A bloodbath?" Romeo slammed his fist into the wall of Nathan's private room. He was beyond pissed. Why because he was the one to clean up the mess. No matter how riled up he acted, he knew his tantrums won't affect the stone cold god of perfection before him. Romeo was stuck with this man.
"I am still king, Rom. I have the right to do whatsoever I want". Nathan said not sparing him a glance as he thought of the woman who was causing a ruckus in his insides. In his hands was a glass of a red liquid. He had been drinking of it as long as Romeo could remember.
Ever since the lady left his room, his thirst had escalated a thousand folds. The woman Elisha had brought him, ended up dead on his bed. He had sucked her dry and he wasn't satisfied. He knew what his body wanted, but it was quite impossible to drink of her.
"I want her".
"You can't be with her you know that. She doesn't know of our existence. The rules Nathan". Romeo said to serve as a reminder. It was impossible for him to be with her not because she was just human. Humans were toys to them, they were for pleasure and served as good meals. None of them could attest to anything because they were being compelled. But this was different. If a human could have so much effect on them, It was impossible to compel them.
"You would never see her again". Romeo said. "I will sac her. With time, all your urges will vanish into thin air". Romeo assured him but the latter knew best. His hunger for her blood, his want for her would remain still and whether she was near or far away, he was still doomed to hell.
