Nathan got into his office looking cold and detached. He strode to his seat, which was behind his desk and sat. It was visible to anyone who saw him that he was in rage and was trying to control himself from bursting out his fury. He had had a cumbersome night, Gelma was the only image in his head. Not the usual red lingerie picture but his imagination was playing tricks on him. He kept picturing her on the forest bed the same forest she left him, sprawled on the ground in her own pool of blood. Iblis was really getting on his nerves. This morning, despite the fact that he had given her the rose perfume, he was still able to perceive Iblis' scent on her. That sweet lavender smell of hers had vanished into thin air forever. Iblis had replaced her scent with his. He couldn't bare getting another man's scent on his mate worst of all his brother's. He remembered that a few days before Ravaya left, she had Iblis' scent on her, her rosy scent was slowly vanishing. He had wanted to confront her about it but she kept avoiding him till the point where she went away from him. He clenched his fists, remembering his brother's words.
"I once did and will do it again...Ravaya will die a second death".
She died! Iblis took away her life and all the while he had thought she took it by herself. Maybe she had found out he was searching for her and she didn't want to be found. He was torn between himself. Did he want to learn about the whole truth? Or did he want to forget about Ravaya, forgo his aching need for Gelma? Either way he chose, Iblis was going to execute his dark desire of dethroning him and becoming king with a power still unknown to him. Now he had an inkling as to why Ravaya left, why Iblis had had an interest in her and what she was. He didn't want to indulge himself in his past because he didn't want to be hurt again. He had strived to be the hard person he was, he didn't want to let his walls he had built so high to crumble. Gelma had dwindled his walls, he didn't want any further damage. His focus should be on Iblis, he was going to send that lunatic back to hell. No one was going to take his throne from him. He had earned it and so it was his.
Their kingdom, Thenas was a hidden kingdom up north. He had left from there with some persons to the human settlements so as to generate income for his people. The times where not like before where they ruled and their wealth came from plunders and spoils from victorious wars. Every supernatural being remained hidden, they feared extinction, they were only few and exposing themselves to the humans was putting themselves into jeopardy. In his stead was his father's best friend, Bethuel. He had shown no signs of betrayal in his father's stead and so he could be trusted to govern in his absence. Olive was there too. She had chosen to stay in her kingdom.
Nathan thought it wise to pay a visit to Olive who had been blessed with the ability to see the far future. He hadn't paid heed to her words afore, his anger had consumed him, turning him into a monster. That very anger drove him to capture his brother and cage him forever. Iblis had become powerful and a threat to the people. Everything was perfect until Gelma came. Gelma was indeed the death of him.
