Nathalie opened her big and bright almond eyes, her eyes greeting the morning sun rays. The curtains of her window had been drawn to let the light in. For sunlight wasn't harmful to the vampires anymore as they had grown to adapt to the burning sun rays unlike their ancestors who had hidden themselves solely in the dark. She did her morning stretches and went down stairs to drink her morning dose. And strange enough, she could perceive the scent of fresh blood, he had dared to satiated himself by using her blood supply she had been storing in her fridge but what was most prominent was Romeo's. Her eyes dilated while she starred at him straight in the eye. For she was in one of her exposing night gowns...not like she had descent nightwears but Romeo wasn't supposed to see her like that. He was seated by the kitchen's island with a cup of coffee in his hands.
He looked handsome and undeniably dazzling with his damped raven hair and dull gray eyes. He starred at her so blankly as though he was starring at a wall and that got her bothered. She was a woman after all...gosh she had charms.
"I had seen you in the nude there is no need to run upstairs to change". He told her when she was about leaving.
"What happened last night?" She went straight to the point. It did worry her that he was present in her house. This wasn't the first time she got drunk, he usually took her home and let her be by herself but he stayed this time around.
Vampires couldn't get drunk by consuming ordinary human wine. For there was a special type for vampires. Nathalie had become a certified drunkard for a while now. Partly because of Romeo and his bitter truths.
"Nathalie if you so badly need a man in your life, then get one". He scoffed.
"If you're getting tired of bringing me home, then stop coming when I call". She scolded. "You know you are all I have". She muttered but he heard still.
"Well you don't acknowledge that". He sneered, standing up from his stool. He strode to her front, his eyes on hers. He took a sip of his hot coffee, while watching her frown her face.
"For more than fifty decades now, I have been putting up with these inconveniences. What have you done so far to compensate me?" He questioned her with a raised brow.
She gazed at him, utterly speechless. Weren't they good friends? Come on what are friends for? Romeo had always been there for her right from when they were still toddlers. In Thenas, they were inseparable. She had met the Nathan a few years later, at that time he was the crown prince. Nathalie had fallen head over heels for the prince. There was something different about him. The fact that he was the only one amongst his siblings with black hair. Olive and Iblis had platinum hair and beautiful obsidian eyes but his was a deep dark abyss. His prowess and dexterity was incomparable thus he was undoubtedly chosen to lead the vampire race and other supernatural beings. She had tried to gain his attention but he never saw her that way and things got worse when he met with his mate. The subject mate in the vampire race was a critical one because only the vampire royals were privileged to have mates and so he found his...Ravaya.
"Nothing". She answered making him to smirk. "But that doesn't answer the question I asked you".
"You kissed me". It was like a bucket of iced water had been poured on her. What?
