Gelma had woken up from the bed alone. She wondered where Nathan could be. She went to search for him in the bathroom but he wasn't there. She scanned the whole floor except his bedroom but she didn't find him. She went downstairs and saw Donna, the head servant told her that he had left not long ago with Elisha. Gelma was disturbed, did he leave for work? She then remembered that it was Saturday and Mr. Wallace wasn't the type to go to work on weekends. He had mentioned something of that sort the previous day. So, where had he gone to? She decided it was better for her to spend some time with her family rather than sit around with nothing doing. She got dressed, a tank top and loose jeans. She tied her hair into a ponytail and now she was ready to go. She didn't forget to draw her brows and apply some lipstick.
When she arrived outside, she met a guard she hadn't seen around, he was quite new.
"Miss Moriaty". He bowed, she starred at him strangely. He was burly and well built. She couldn't help but notice that the men Nathan was affiliated with were not different from him, tall, huge, intimidating and they had a strong aura. Were they of the same kind? The people at Wallace Corp, weren't human?
She had to think this thoroughly, if Nathan wasn't human then what was he? Could there be other species existing? She was very much aware that he wasn't human so why hasn't she ran away from him yet? Why wasn't she wary of him? Had she come to trust him so much that she didn't mind about her own life? Had she come to love him so much that she couldn't imagine her life without him? That too in what span of time? Five days with him and she was head over heels already, she mentally face palmed herself. He hadn't even ask her out on a date or professed his love and admiration for her yet here she was seeking for his body. How shameless she had turned out to be. She was certain that even with all this realities, she would rather die than leave Nathan.
She wasn't sure but there was something about him that drew her to him. Was it his enigma? His chilling aura or his perfection? His eyes were a mystery to her, it was beckoning on her soul, it seemed to be a dark abyss that wanted her wholly but he was fighting it. She had no problem drowning in his darkness, after all she was lost in his eyes. His skin was like that of silver, it had that silvery glow, she had never seen someone so ethereal. Under the moonlight, he was akin to the god of thunder. He was frightening yet it was him she wanted. He was inhuman and dangerous yet he was the air she breathed.
There was a sense of familiarity she felt with him, it was like she had known him for so long. At least that could explain the undivided trust she had in him. She was madly in love with Mr. Wallace.
"Miss Moriaty king Nathan assigned me to be your driver and escort". He bowed again. "You can call me Lynx"
When did she come in-need of a driver and an escort? She didn't have a car in the first place neither was she an important personality to require such special treatment.
She saw him open a black glistening Roll Royce, her eyes almost came off her sockets when she spotted the car, her dream was coming true little by little, guess she no longer had to marry an old diminishing man who was wealthy and had no children. He gestured for her to step in, who was she to decline? She entered feeling the warmth of the car, it had a good fragrance, she couldn't resist inhaling it. She wasn't wrong falling for Nathan was she? He was rich, influential and generous, if not, why then did he offer his latest car to a woman who wasn't his girlfriend, his personal assistant for that matter? That hit her hard, she wasn't even his girlfriend, well who cared? She was going to occupy till his 'girlfriend' arrived.
They arrived the hospital and she couldn't help but smirk at the amazed looks she was getting. She was no longer the gutter girl but a girl living in the 'king's mansion'. Lynx, strange name but he followed her to her mother's private ward. She knew Jared and Jerry will rain down questions on her.
"Gelma". They spotted her, the twins brightened up the moment they saw her, it hadn't been long since she visited but they missed her still.
"Gelma dear". Her mother called, she sounded more healthy and fine. She walked to them and gave them a tight hug.
She ordered Lynx to come in with the presents she had bought for them, she wasn't going to be a bad daughter and sister for the second time; visiting empty handed. They were marveled, seeing Lynx. The boys were giving her that look of 'so you have a boyfriend huh? One who does everything you ask of him huh! Well we are not surprised, you look hot, any guy would die for you'. She cleared her throat reading the eye message they were sending her.
"Meet my bodyguard, Lynx. Lynx meet my family". She introduced them.
"Bodyguard?" The boys said in sync.
"The company I work for gave me a car, a house and a bodyguard". She explained and they nodded back in understanding.
"Cool". The boys said simultaneously.
"What is even more cool is the fact that, they are offering my family a trip abroad". She grinned at them watching their expressions.
"Gelma". She heard Kiki squeak. She was surprised to see her friend in the flesh. It had been a while since they met.
"You traitor, you abandoned me to rot in oxygn didn't you?" She feigned sadness.
"Kiki". She whispered shouted to stop her from spilling the beans.
"Ahhhh...mother". She realized herself and went on as though she wasn't about to drop a bomb.
"Kiki what took you so long to visit?" Gelma's mother asked.
"It was all Gelma's fault". She whined, they all laughed. Kiki was fun to be with.
Gelma was so happy the way the day had turned out. They played and discussed a lot of stuff before she returned home; the king's mansion.
