She let out a breath, in attempt to relief herself from the knot she had found herself in this night. What she had heard while eavesdropping on him was so shocking. His world was more complicated and darker than she thought. It wasn't just about vampires, she heard the woman mention a witch, demons even faes. What other supernatural beings existed? Angels perhaps...Tyler was her guardian angel, she had learn to live with that but... she needed more answers. The longer she stayed by Nathan's side, the more confused she became, seeking answers. That didn't mean she was scared of him or wanted to leave him. None of these revelations were appalling, they were rather intriguing and prompted her to dive deeper, to discover who Nathan was and more importantly who she really was. All Tyler had been saying about Nathan, she wanted to prove the authenticity of his words.
"You are the one who should be petrified Nathan. I can kill you remember". She tried playing a different card hoping it will work on him. Unfortunately this man was an unmovable wall that didn't pay heed to the whims of others.
She wasn't surprised when he began laughing like a maniac, damn she was in love with the devil himself.
"What are you Nathan?" She starred at him, her brows furrowed, fingers crossed wishing he wouldn't say devil but he said it anyways.
"Lucifer". In an ice chilling voice he said it, the room was already at a freezing temperature. This wasn't helping. "His beloved grandson and heir to hell's throne". She swallowed whatever lump occupied her throat, after he proudly introduced himself as the family member of the devil, he was proud of being a terrorizer.
"I heard her calling you..."
"Azazel?" He asked her with a raised brow. "That's my demon name". He added.
"O-okay". She stuttered, Nathan was both a demon and a vampire? A DEMON? Her mind began ringing alarms. Wasn't this good enough reason to leave now that she wasn't consumed totally? There was no turning back now because she was into him, wholly.
"Try calling me that way". He teased her, running his tongue across her nape. She shivered from both the cold and his sinful tongue. He began planting kisses on the crook of her neck. "It may sound even sexier than Nathan". He grazed her neck with his fangs, and sucked the little blood that oozed out of the bruises. She moaned his name, "Azazel". The way his name rolled of her tongue aroused him, he bit into her flesh without warning, making her writhe in pain and pleasure.
"Azel". She moaned.
"You sound heavenly my lovely". He drawled, he was intoxicated by her rose scent. He pulled away from her nape, setting her free but he kept her on his thighs still.
"You must sleep rosy...too bad I'm unable to compel you".
"Why?" She asked genuinely curious as to why his ability didn't work on her this time around.
"You are awakening...it's both fortunate and unfortunate". He answered.
"Am I the fae she mentioned?" She asked again wanting answers.
"Curious little rose". He flicked her nose while Gelma was taken aback, no one had ever flicked her nose. Tyler was so right. She wasn't human. She was going to find out everything.
"I have one last question". She said, pleadingly. He starred at her gesturing her to go on with her question. "Who is Ravaya?" She felt she had pushed the wrong button because he stiffened, squeezing her tightly while his eyes turned into black orbs, emitting gloominess and darkness. His hand held her back while the other was atop her thighs. His hand behind her back began caressing her back slowly, every move of his sent chills down her spine.
"Ravaya". He husked, her heart began beating erratically, losing control of itself and wanting to breakthrough her rib cage. It was as if he was calling out to her. Just when he was about saying something, the ceiling of his room broke through, four deranged vampires descended from up. They didn't utter a word but began attacking the duo fiercely.
"Shit". Nathan cussed and went on to rip them apart whilst protecting his beloved from their hands. More kept on coming, their corpses adding to the scattered bodies of the rogues.
Lynx barged into the room, his white shirt stained with blood, he looked terrifying as he joined his master to tear down the deranged vampires. They fought hand in hand, Lynx could only hurt them and not kill them as they weren't ordinary but had been sent by Sybil herself to catch hold of the fae.
"How did they manage to enter my sleeping space?" Nathan asked under clenched teeth, his eyes glowering at Lynx. For he was in charge of the security and maintenance of the king's mansion, it was in his place to prevent the rogues from accessing the mansion's interior.
"My men were unable to kill them, they all dead". Lynx couldn't look his master in the eye. He should have stationed some demons but he hadn't seen this happening. He was grateful that they weren't attacking the oblivious humans but him.
"Nathan!" Gelma sounded frantic as she was pulled by one of the rogues who laid on the floor, his claws digging into her flesh. Due to his swiftness, he was able to yank her back and grip the vampire's throat, he then severed his head from his head.
"Burn down the mansion". Nathan ordered. Lynx wasn't expecting that but he had to do it. What was his master thinking?
"Tell Dimitri to meet me at the green island". Lynx nodded at Nathan, who dragged Gelma out of the room to his window using his vampiric speed. He hugged her from behind before jumping down the window. Gelma was sure of breathing her last until she felt a pull, she heard flapping sounds and gazed up only to find large coppery brown wings on his back, the fluttering wings marveled her such that she couldn't tear her gaze off them.
"Enchanted with my looks?" He teased her and her cheeks flushed red. To avoid him jabbing at her, she focused on the scenery below them. As they were high in the sky, the city was breathtaking.
"Where are we going?" She asked him. If his house was going to be burnt then were was he going to stay? Were they now save from their attackers?
"To hell babe. Only me and you". He deadpanned, she bit the inside of her mouth, trying to school herself from responding to his words.
