Romeo was busy in the kitchen, fixing breakfast for Nathalie. Vampires fed on blood but had grown to be fund of food. Nathalie had come to love food and so he had to cook something for her. He wasn't so good in cooking so all he could fix for her was bacon and eggs. He was on  serving it on a plate when her jasmine scent hit his nose, it seemed like she had had her bath and gotten rid of the alcohol stench that was on her. He turned to her side, watching her open his fridge, she scanned his blood supply noting that he was running out of blood. She grabbed one can for herself and gulped all its contents in one go.
"How did you sleep?" He asked her, his eyes on her wishing she would give him a glance.
She didn't answer, she closed the fridge and then faced him deadpanned.
"You never ask such irrelevant questions". She said.
"I use to".
"That was fifty decades ago".
"Nathalie..."
"Why did you come back to look for me after you left me in shambles". She asked him, her voice calm but laced with melancholy.
Silence reigned, he was unable to give her an answer.
"What I did was a mistake, I was drunk. Yes I needed comfort and some sort of love but the kiss you initiated, it was no mistake". She told him.
"You would not be certain enough until you let me kiss you again". He spoke, his gray eyes seemed alive as they starred deep into hers.
"Rom..."
"You evoked something in me the moment you kissed me. You woke up a hibernating beast with those voluptuous lips of yours. You awoke my buried desire for this temptable body of yours". He said those words, while approaching her, she was oblivious to his steady strides, for she was enclaved by his piercing gray eyes and his heart thrumming words.
"You made me want you a thousand times than before". He whispered in her left ear, she quivered from his words. She couldn't handle the gravity of his words. She soundlessly gasped the moment he enveloped her earlobe with his warm lips.
"Nathalie let me kiss you again". He asked pleadingly. He didn't wait for an approval since she remained mute, he took her silence as a yes and went ahead with the kiss.
She broke off from the sweet and passionate kiss, her mind was in a muddle, she was yet to understand his words and get them straight. She was in a state of bewilderment resulting from her failure to understand his words. There was no way he wanted her when he had been keeping millions of women beneath his body. Romeo was never the one to be interested in someone that way. His kiss was too good to be true. He was just pulling her legs. She wasn't going to fall for such tricks.
"What is the matter?" He held her shoulders, his eyes spoke volumes of care and worry for her, two words that never existed in his dictionary. He was emotionless and all he did was break women's hearts.
She wasn't going to be one of them. It was better to keep loving Nathan and expect nothing in return than to turn into a cry baby. She shrugged his hands of her and distanced herself from him.
"I know what you want". She said, "I'm not stupid. I thought you were my life support".
"What do you mean?"
"I can never be your bitch". She said and left.
He kept calling her back, trying to follow her but she didn't turn back or halt. He was beyond furious. Why would she think that way, he thought. Hadn't his minor actions convinced her enough that he cared for her ? Was it too hard to believe that he truly cared?
