The forest winds blew violently at her loose red hair, as she limped speedily through the trees in hopes of escaping the demon.
"Sybil". She whipped her head towards her left, where the voice calling was more prominent. She groaned and continued her run, a little faster.
"No one can escape this forest". The voice said, followed by sardonic laughter.
"It's just the two of us, stuck in this hell hole". She heard a screamed and in a flash the platinum haired demon materialized before her, rapidly, she conjured two silver swords and began defending herself from the demon.
"Out of fireballs?" Olive taunted but got shot a massive fireball that sent her flying to a tree. She woke up, coughing out blood, her whole body was stained with her blood and that of her opponent. They both looked drained of life but they kept the battle on.
"Impressive. You are not so exhausted after all". She chuckled menacingly and with a hand gesture, an invisible power pushed the witch to a tree bark, breaking her ribs for the umpteenth time.
"I will break you bone by bone until you become a heap of flesh". She laughed out crazily while approaching the motionless red haired in a staggering manner, her feet were wobbling and so walking straight was impossible.
"Sybil!" She teased as she neared her, suddenly the witch arose and tried attacking her with her feeble hands but her attack was easily evaded. Olive held her by the throat in a tight grip.
"I want to hear you speak Sybil. I miss your voice". She laughed maddeningly and threw her to the same tree, dislocating her hip.
Silence was ensued in the forest for a while until they heard a call, it sounded just like Elisha's.
"Sybil". There was a moment of silence before the voice came again.
"Sybil". This time it was louder and clearer that it belonged to him, Elisha.
"Hmmmn...lover boy came to your rescue". Olive made a sarcastic comment.
"Elisha". Sybil called out, relief washing over her face, she looked determined to meet up with him.
"Not so fast". Olive attacked her but the redhead wasn't buying it and counterattacked relentlessly until she was able to weaken the demon, she was surprised by her own strength, Elisha was truly her love to provide her such hope for escape. She limped away, calling his name over and over in order to locate him, if he could enter this forest, he could take her out of it, right now, her main goal was to find refuge, she was going to deal with the demon later. It was better to run and fight another day. She kept limping till she spotted him, in a meadow.
"Elisha". She almost broke down in tears as she nears him. He was dressed in a coffee brown cloak, his raven hair ruffled by the wind, he was alive, as expected, demons weren't easy to kill especially high ranking demons.
He opened his arms wide for her while she neared, unbeknownst to her, a mass of smoke was tailing her, when the redhead had inched into his space, dropping her guard down, she felt a squeeze at her back, then followed a sharp unbearable pain. A poisoned dagger had been plunged into her chest, pushing her beating heart outside. An unmeasurable amount of blood oozed out of the wound and her mouth as her eyes were kept widened in shock. In a couple of seconds, her bloodied body burst into smoke. It was now Olive standing before her betrothed.
"Eli". She barely whispered as she gave into her body's weakness and his wide arms, welcomed her warmly into a warm embrace. He slide down to his knees with her as her legs couldn't carry her.
"Eli". She caressed his face soothingly. Tears pulling down her eyes. She couldn't hold her emotions anymore, she let them out in volumes, he held her still, offering her comfort, the one she had denied herself continuously in the past. As they remained in each other's arms, oblivious about the time spent, red light began emanating from her body.
"Olive". He called frantically knowing what the red light was. "Olive". He cupped her face and met her forehead with his in total silence.
"Sybil told me there was a way to break the spell". Her broken voice cut through the silence, shattering their hearts. "There was a way Elisha but it's useless now". She cried deeply, the hurt she was feeling was unbearable.
"I tried to stay alive...I didn't want to die again. When she told me, I fought...I fought so hard to live". She lamented.
"I was ready to live for you. To live for us but I never do enough". She screamed, holding on to him for strength, hoping her time could be elongated, that she didn't have to leave him that instant.
"Olive, I know you tried. It's fine. You did more than enough, wanting to live". He caressed her platinum head as he hugged her close to his chest. He tried sounding cool and not heart broken so he could ease her soul, he wanted her to leave knowing she had made him the happiest man alive.
"I love you Elisha". She whispered.
"I love you too princess". He answered, raising her head to his level, he then placed his lips on hers, as he seized her last breath.
