And so, Gelgar, Lynne, Henning, and Nanaba embarked on their mission to eliminate the Titans, our nervous gazes fixed upon them. Working seamlessly as a team, Nanaba and Gelgar skillfully took down a Titan, its fall inadvertently crushing the smaller ones beneath its massive bulk.
" Look at that ! It even squashed the little ones ! Heh ! The big moron ! I remain as impressed as ever, Nanaba. A truly masterful strike !". Gelgar exclaimed with admiration.
" Gelgar... that was quite a daring move. Could you not have evaded its attack without expending your blades on its fingers ?". Nanaba responded with a hint of concern.
" That's simply my fighting style... I don't yield easily. You should consider it an assist !". Gelgar retorted, his determination unwavering.
Nanaba smirked and conceded," You're incredibly stubborn... Alright, message received".
After a brief pause, Lynne rushed back before us, her face etched with panic.
" Titans have breached the tower ! Retreat indoors and put barricades to impede their progress ! Our Vertical Maneuvering Equipment won't be effective within the confines of the tower. If you can't halt their advance, then, in the worst-case scenario, seek refuge on the rooftop.
However, keep this in mind... I can't guarantee we'll be able to rescue you. The uncertainty of our survival looms large, and we're uncertain about the number of Titans remaining or the durability of our gas and blades...
But do what you've always done. Exert yourselves to the fullest, as long as breath remains within you ! Understood ?!". Lynne's instructions resonated firmly.
" Yes, Ma'am !". We chorused, determination burning in our voices.
Without a second thought, we dashed towards the staircase. Reiner and I took the lead, Draco close behind with Ymir as he strived to maintain his composure as he followed.
" Stella and I will assess the Titans' progress ! The rest of you, gather whatever you can ! Boards, poles, anything that might be of use !". Reiner's instructions rang out.
" Wait ! Don't go, Stella !". Draco's urgent exclamation filled the air.
Ignoring the plea, Reiner and I descended the stairs with haste. He swung open a door ahead of us.
" Stay a bit behind me". Reiner advised.
" Huh ? Why ? I have something to defend myself with, while you don't have any weapons, so...". I began to argue.
Before I could continue, Reiner descended the stairs and carefully cracked open the door at the other end. I sighed before following him.
" Hey... are you certain about opening that ?". I voiced my doubts.
" Yeah, we need to pinpoint their exact location". Reiner replied.
Nervously, Reiner and I exchanged apprehensive glances as he eased open the door. Initially, we spotted nothing, but upon looking upward, we were met with the sight of a Titan on the stairs, a grotesque grin stretching across its face as it fixated on us. Reflexively, Reiner slammed the door shut, and the Titan immediately set to work attempting to breach it.
