Estella's POV :

After the gate slammed shut with a resounding thud, a heavy silence blanketed the battlefield, thick and foreboding. Mikasa and Draco wasted no time, leaping gracefully from the wall to retrieve Eren, while I kept scanning our surroundings nervously, every muscle tensed. My eyes darted across the desolate landscape, searching for the slightest hint of movement—anything that could suggest an enemy lurking in the shadows.

" Any enemies ?!". Hange's voice cut through the silence, their tone urgent.

" None visible !". Oluo responded, his voice steady, but laced with the same tension we all felt.

" Stay alert ! And the hole ?!". Hange continued, their command sharp.

" It worked ! It's sealed tight !". Came the reply from one of the soldiers stationed near the gate, his voice brimming with a mixture of disbelief and relief.

Hange exhaled deeply, their shoulders relaxing slightly as they allowed herself a brief moment of satisfaction," We did it...".

I hurried over to Eren, who had collapsed on one knee, still catching his breath," Are you alright, Eren ?". I asked, concern etched in my voice.

Eren managed a small smile, though he was visibly exhausted," I'm fine". He replied, his eyes searching for reassurance.

Before Hange could even ask, Eren was already inspecting his maneuvering gear," And your equipment ?". Hange demanded, watching him closely.

" It's fine," Eren answered as he twisted and flexed the straps." But... my cloak's gone. The gear ripped it off".

Without a word, Draco shrugged off his own cloak and tossed it to Eren," Take mine". He said casually, though there was an edge of seriousness in his voice.

Eren blinked, momentarily stunned by the gesture," You're sure ?". He asked, his voice betraying his surprise.

" I don't need it," Draco replied, his expression unreadable." It just gets in the way. Besides, I'm not the one everyone's after. You are".

Eren hesitated only for a second before nodding his thanks," Thanks, Malfoy". He muttered, pulling the cloak around his shoulders, the hood now shrouding his face.

Draco waved him off," This mission depends on you. I didn't come here to risk my neck for nothing. So don't screw it up".

Hange, always one to keep things moving, cut in again, their eyes glinting with focus," Are you sure you're not too exhausted ?".

Eren stood up straight, a determined glint returning to his eyes," I'm fine. We keep going, just like we practiced".

Hange nodded, satisfied with his resolve," Alright then. We're heading for the inner gate ! Keep your faces hidden—if they spot you, they'll attack before we reach it. Move fast, no mistakes !".

The command jolted us into action. We began sprinting toward the inner gate, the tension palpable. The wind howled in our ears, and the only sound was the rhythmic thud of our boots on the ground, every step echoing our urgency.

As we ran, I caught a glimpse of Eren's face—deep in thought, as though grappling with something far beyond the physical strain of the mission," Did I... really close the hole ? That easily ?". He murmured, almost as if speaking to himself.

" You did. Trust yourself". Mikasa replied, her voice steady and unwavering.

I chimed in, nodding," Mikasa's right. You did a good job, Eren. Better than any of us could've hoped for".

But Eren's mind seemed elsewhere, his eyes distant," The hole from that day...". His voice faded, haunted by memories that weighed heavy on his heart.

Oluo's voice broke through, blunt as ever," Don't get too cocky, brat".
