I looked down, my pulse quickening as the Armored Titan finally staggered upright, steeling itself to advance toward the Wall. Each muscle in its monstrous body seemed to tighten, gleaming dully under the dust and sunlight.
" Erwin. He's gonna come up here". Levi warned, his voice sharp and calm, but his gaze intense.
I felt a cold jolt as I watched the Armored Titan harden its hands and feet. It braced itself, then lunged toward the Wall, beginning its ascent with shocking speed and power.
" Who'd have guessed that his fat arse could actually scale this thing". Draco muttered, though there was a slight tremor to his voice.
" Troops, avoid engaging the Armored Titan ! Do not approach that thing !". Commander Erwin's voice rang out with the authority of thunder, silencing any other thoughts.
" Yes, sir !". Everyone echoed, the air filled with the clinks of blades as they prepared for action.
Eren's fists clenched as he glanced toward Hange, a flicker of frustration in his eyes," Hange ? Are we still waiting on attack orders ? What's the Commander planning ?!".
" Watch and learn". I replied, keeping my eyes trained on the advancing enemy, feeling the weight of the battle seeping into my bones.
Eren frowned," What ?".
" Exactly. Observing the enemy's movements. Reiner and Bertholdt probably have a very elaborate welcome waiting for us up here". Hange explained, their eyes narrowed, calculating.
I scanned the horizon, feeling a chill down my spine as my gaze landed on something strange—a new Titan beside the Beast Titan. It was unlike the others, a smaller quadruped, and it stood with unsettling poise. This one was no mindless creature; like Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, and the Beast Titan, it had intelligence. And... something else, too.
" It has a saddle for carrying cargo," I murmured, piecing together the clues." Ideal for scouting... This must be the Titan that's been spying on us".
" That quadrupedal Titan has intelligence too," Commander Erwin noted, his gaze hardening." No... There must be even more of them. The enemy is even more formidable than we predicted".
My pulse pounded faster as the Beast Titan suddenly let out a bone-rattling scream, slamming its fist onto the ground. The echo was deafening.
" Oh no...". I whispered, glancing at Draco, whose face had gone pale." Draco, it's—".
" Exactly like that night...". He muttered, swallowing hard.
" What do you mean ?". Oluo asked, his brow furrowed, but before we could answer, a wave of smaller Titans began to rush forward, moving with unnatural synchronization.
" He's controlling them...". I whispered, feeling a pit of dread opening in my stomach." Just like at Utgard Castle."
I know that the Beast Titan will at first destroy our horses, cutting off our retreat. Without an escape route, we'd be trapped, forced to face the enemy head-on, exhausted and cornered. We would be at the mercy of these monsters, outmatched, and outnumbered. The end would come slowly, painfully, our fates sealed within these walls.
" C-Commander," Armin called, his voice tight." The Armored Titan is getting closer... And we still don't know where Bertholdt is hiding".
" What are your orders, Commander ?". Oluo asked, his voice taut with apprehension.
Commander Erwin stood silent, his gaze sharp, jaw set as he calculated. The seconds dragged on, each heartbeat like a drumbeat.
" So, you're finally ready to talk ?". Levi broke the silence, a hint of sarcasm cutting through the tension." Or should I grab breakfast after all ?".
