As we gathered for the emergency meeting, I observed the frantic activity around us. Soldiers rushed to execute orders, their movements a blur of urgency and determination. Hange, sitting nearby with their wound being treated, looked on with a pensive expression. My thoughts were abruptly interrupted when the conversation between Commander Erwin and the Captain of the Garrison escalated.

" What in the world are you thinking, Erwin ?! You want me to keep the citizens here ? You're telling me not to evacuate them ?! That Titan will be here by dawn !". The Garrison Captain's voice was a mix of fury and panic as he grabbed the Commander by the collar of his shirt.

" But it's an abnormal". Hange interjected, their voice calm despite the chaos.

" So what if it is ?!". The Captain demanded, his voice edged with nervousness.

" The target is an abnormal Titan," Hange explained." Abnormal Titans are drawn to areas with high concentrations of humans. This one is so abnormal that it wouldn't be attracted to a small village. You'd need a population as large as this entire walled city for it to react".

Hange continued," If you suddenly evacuate the citizens inside Wall Sina, that's where the Titan would head. It might destroy the wall to reach you, eventually making its way to Mitras, the royal capital, which has the highest population density. That would spell ruin for humanity".

The soldiers from the Garrison exchanged uneasy glances, their faces reflecting a mix of shock and apprehension.

" In other words," Commander Erwin said with grim determination," our only option is to confront that Titan here, at the wall around Orvud District. To do that, we need a large population to act as bait. However, our primary duty as soldiers is to protect the lives of the people".

" We will do everything in our power to ensure that not a single citizen is harmed, even if we cannot stop the Titan," the Commander continued." Inform the people of the district and surrounding areas that an emergency evacuation drill is underway. We will make arrangements to move them in or out of Orvud quickly, depending on the situation".

The Garrison Captain's eyes narrowed with reluctant acceptance," I suppose... we have no choice".

" The Titan is larger than anything we've faced before. But that also makes it a bigger, slower target," Commander Erwin added." The cannons mounted on the wall should be highly effective against it. If that somehow isn't enough...".

" But... those two things over there, they could help. They are...". A Garrison soldier began, hesitatingly.

" Learn some respect first, and I might consider helping you". Draco snapped.

I sighed, clearing my throat," We can't do anything. The Titan is emitting a massive amount of smoke and heat. Any spell we use would either be reflected or would simply explode. If it were producing a smaller amount of heat and smoke, we might have a chance, but that's not the case. We'll have to resort to more conventional methods. So, buckle up and do your duty".

Levi flicked my forehead, causing me to huff as I crossed my arms, glaring elsewhere.

" And here I thought you'd reprimand me for speaking to them like that". Draco muttered.

" No. They deserve it," I whispered." They're starting to annoy me. We're experts in our field, yet they disrespect us. These soldiers can only whimper while failing to protect their own people. They're foolish. If they don't show us respect, why should we extend any to them ?".

Draco hummed thoughtfully," You've changed a bit. You would have scolded me before".

" Let's just say their attempts on our lives after we've helped them still irk me". I replied, frowning.
