New revelations emerged about the old government as the long-awaited judgment day arrived. For the crime of putting their own self-interest above all else and jeopardizing the very survival of humanity, the military exacted swift and merciless punishment on the architects of the previous order.

The political elite and their relatives were stripped of their titles and exiled to remote detention facilities scattered across the land, far from the halls of power they once dominated. The remaining aristocracy was not spared either.

The military imposed a strict and calculated system of taxation, rewarding those who cooperated while isolating and crippling those who dared resist. This division ensured that the aristocrats could not unite against their new rulers, effectively dismantling any potential resistance.

The purges, though brutal, were deemed necessary. More central figures in society were displaced than had perished during the rebellion, but the gains were substantial. Among the Interior Military Police, a few loyalists had secretly preserved research records—documents that had been ordered destroyed to prevent any technological advancements. This clandestine act opened the door to innovations that promised to reshape the battlefield.

One of the most significant discoveries was the shining stone found in the cavern beneath the Reiss family grounds, a relic believed to have been created by the Titans themselves. Distributed to the people, these stones provided a source of seemingly limitless energy, igniting a new era of productivity.

Factories and manufacturing areas now buzzed with activity, illuminated both day and night. The hardening power Eren had gained was not only a solution to Shiganshina District's ruined gate; it also sparked the creation of a formidable anti-Titan weapon.

Amidst the chaos and the relentless pace of technological development, I found fleeting moments of peace. I spent them with Eliza and Isaac, who had adapted well to our new environment. They were thriving, surrounded by new friends, and their happiness brought me comfort. I couldn't help but dream of a future where, when the storm had passed, I might find a place of my own—a sanctuary for the three of us.

But dreams had to wait. New recruits were flooding into the Survey Corps, drawn from the Military Police and the Garrison, eager to prove themselves in this new chapter of warfare. At the mess hall, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Draco sat across from me, lazily twirling his spoon in his soup, while I sipped my drink, half-listening to the conversation around us.

" We can beat them... We can beat them !". Marlowe's voice rang out, filled with unbridled enthusiasm.

" Will he ever shut up ?". Draco muttered, clearly annoyed.

" Those spears can cut through Titans like they're made of paper !". Marlowe continued, oblivious to the growing tension.

" Your seal of approval doesn't mean much when you've never even fought a Titan before, you know". Jean retorted, his tone sharp.

I rested my chin in my hand, my eyes fixed on Marlowe. He reminded me so much of Eren before he joined the Survey Corps—full of fire and conviction, yet so naive.

" Yes, I'm new to the Survey Corps. But I've never seen everyone so excited, not even at graduation ! It shows just how much people expect from this new weapon !". Marlowe declared, his voice carrying a hint of hope.

" Take a good look, Marlowe. The only soldiers excited are transfers like you, with zero practical experience. There are barely any veterans around here". Jean pointed out, his gaze hardening.

" What was that, Jean ? Is that how little you think of us Garrison leftovers ? Aren't we all part of the 104th ?". Floch chimed in, his voice laced with indignation.
