CLASS TRIAL IN SESSION

"Ahem! Now then, let's begin with a basic explanation of the class trial!" Monokuma began. "During the trial, you'll present your arguments for who the culprit is, and vote for 'whodunnit'. Vote correctly, and only the blackened will be punished. But if you pick the wrong person, I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and that person will gradu–"

"Graduation is meaningless here... We already know that..." Keebo cut Monokuma's spiel off. "We don't need your rules anymore! We'll find our own reasons to live! And we'll do whatever it takes to survive!"

"Wow! An actual talking robot! I've never seen one of those before!" Monokuma responded with a loud laugh, completely ignoring everything Keebo had declared.

"Seriously!?" Keebo gave an indignant yell.

"Forget about that! Where's Kokichi?" Tenko shouted. "Why isn't he here yet?"

"Does that mean Rin is the one who survived?" Kaede pondered.

"But if that's the case, why is Rin missing? He wouldn't just hide from us like this." Rantaro argued.

"Oh, are you worried about your friends? Aw, how sweet. Well, don't make those sad faces of yours! This case has some unique circumstances." Monokuma explained.

"Unique circumstances?" Kirumi repeated.

"Cuz for this murder, the victim's identity is completely unknown! Given these circumstances..." Monokuma's grin widened and became more twisted as he gestured to both Rin and Kokichi's podiums and portraits with glee. "I decided to start off this class trial while the victim is still anonymous! After all, it'd be a shame if I let such a rare opportunity go to waste!"

"How's that fair? You said we all had to be at the class trial! It's part of the rules!" Tenko shouted back.

"Don't worry. The person who's still alive is waiting behind the scenes for their cue. It's all part of the overall production. Anyway, let's get this trial moving!" Monokuma exclaimed.

"They're waiting behind the scenes? So they're already here then?" Rantaro raised an eyebrow at that.

"I guess we have no choice but to start the trial under these conditions..." Keebo grumbled.

"What's there to even discuss? The culprit is obviously the mastermind! So the blackened is Kokichi!" Tenko shouted.

"I agree. I think Kokichi's the obvious suspect." Kaede nodded.

"It's too soon to decide anything for certain. We don't even know if Rin was the victim." Shuichi pointed out.

"I agree with Shuichi. I do not believe Rin is the victim. I believe it was Kokichi." Kirumi stated.

"Hmm...I'm not sure I can agree." Rantaro responded. "I mean, I want Rin to still be alive, but I just don't see how it's possible."

"That's why we need to discuss it more. We need to be absolutely sure. If we don't positively identify the victim, the other person will never show themselves, right?" Shuichi explained.

"Before we can identify a suspect, we need to determine who the victim is." Keebo agreed.

"Why are you guys confused about this? It's so obvious! Ugh...Fine. If you need help getting it through your head, then let's talk about it." Tenko rolled her eyes.

"It's not like we have much of a choice. We can't move forward with the discussion before we reach an agreement." Kaede let out a small sigh.

"Then let us begin our discussion," Kirumi said.
