There was a sort of silence amongst the three of them. They were all anxiously waiting, hoping that the people they loved would come back. Lily, Finnick, and Katniss hadn't received word from Boggs or anyone else who'd gone on the covert mission in hours.

Snow had known they were there. He'd played all of them from the beginning, meaning that none of them had a clue if they'd gotten out or not. Coin had no answers either and neither did they, only furthering the uneasiness settling in the air.

But that's not all that was bothering Lily. And it wasn't how uncomfortable she felt at six months pregnant or the fact that she felt sick. No, it was Finnick. She'd heard his propo, nausea subsequently brewing in the back of her throat.

She glanced over at him, eyes shifting down to the rope he continuously knotted over and over and over again. Katniss sat on her other side, but she wasn't paying attention to anyone or anything, entirely unfocused.

"Is it really true?" Lily finally asked.

Finnick hesitated, fingers hovering over the loop he'd been making. His hands fell slack in his lap as he lifted his head, meeting her gaze. "Yeah. She did it to protect all of you."

Lily squoze her eyes shut, letting out a breath. "I hate him. I hate him for everything he's done."

"Me, too." Finnick murmured.

She opened her eyes, taking in his anxious expression and tense body language. Without another word, she took his hand in hers, lacing their fingers together. "They're fighters, Finnick. Every last one of them. Before you know it, she'll be back here, getting pissed at you because you hog the covers."

A small smile lifted his mouth, a dimple appearing in his cheek. "You think so?"

"I know so." Lily responded, giving his hand a squeeze. "Sawyer and Rhett aren't leaving that center without her." She paused, turning to Katniss. "Or Peeta. Or Johanna. They're going to get them out."

Katniss didn't say anything, only lifting her gaze to Lily's. Something similar to hope flickered in her eyes, but it was short lived. All three of their heads whipped to the door at the sound of it creaking open.

Haymitch popped his head in a moment later. "They're back."

Katniss bounded from her seat on the wall, running out the door after Haymitch. Finnick helped Lily up, the two of them hurrying down the hall after them. She ran as fast as she could while pregnant, Finnick staying a step behind her just to be safe.

As they reached the hospital wing, dozens of nurses and doctors could already be seen inside. All of them were rushing from one station to the next, no doubt attending to the various tributes. It was pure chaos, noise bustling in their eardrums.
