Kai still had a grin on his face as he walked through the door to their home. His and Johanna's home. It had been a good day. A much needed, fun day to catch up with everyone that he considered his family and closest friends.

"Alright. Thresh, you know where to go." He announced before turning to Effie and Haymitch. "Your room is downstairs. He can show you on the way down."

"Thank you, Kai. It's been a most wonderful day." Effie commented as a smile lifted either side of her lips. "And for letting us stay. We're so delighted to be here."

"Nah," He said, nose crinkling up as he glanced at Johanna. "It's our pleasure."

"Right. Pleasure." Thresh echoed, stifling a laugh.

Haymitch leaned closer to him. "Does he remember who he's talking to?"

"Okay. Okay, go. Now." Kai ordered, shooing them towards the stairs. "Our house, our rules. And you guys are being asses."

"And yet, you love us anyway." Thresh acknowledged, shrugging his shoulders as he disappeared down the flight of stairs.

"Well, Malakai loves me. We're just..."

Haymitch's voice eventually became inaudible as they reached the basement. Kai shook his head despite the smile on his face, turning back to Johanna. Her gaze was situated somewhere on the carpet, though, as she stood in the front room.

Luckily, they'd gotten the best group of people for tonight. Effie, Haymitch, and Thresh, while all being close to them, minded their business. Kai knew neither him or Johanna would be disturbed until morning. Sawyer had the most room in his house, so Katniss, Peeta, Hunter, Lily, and Malakai were staying with him. That left Annie and Prim to stay with Peia and Finnick, but they had the least amount of room, so it made sense for them to have less people stay at their house.

None of that explained what was going on with Johanna though. Having people stay with them shouldn't have been something that bothered her. Or maybe it did. He had no idea why she had been so detached all day.

"What is wrong, Jo?" Kai asked slowly, using either of his hands to brush the hair from her face.

She looked up at him, light eyes full of uncertainty. "Nothing."

Kai's head tilted, brow barely furrowing together. "Hey, it's me and you. Right? What's going on? How come you were so quiet today?"

Johanna deeply inhaled before exhaling. Then a smile was crossing her face. "I started. Didn't really feel like talking."

His eyes softened as he placed his hands on the small of her back, gently rubbing the area. "You need anything? You okay?"

"I'm fine. I promise. I just felt nauseous." She reassured him.
