He meant everything to her. Three years later and she'd still do anything to keep him safe, sacrifice everything to protect him- even if that meant keeping him at an arm's length.
She was the one person who truly knew him. The one person he'd choos...

As far as honeymoons go, Coin had made theirs one to remember. They'd landed just under an hour ago and were getting suited up, ready to go to the front lines. And although they were just to be used for propos as the face of the rebellion, the danger that would follow them would be imminent. It's not like it'd be anything they hadn't been up against before though.
Still, Peia and Finnick's honeymoon would be full of action.
"How surprised do you think she'll be?" Peia asked, slipping her last blade into the slits of her waistband.
"Well considering we're supposed to be relaxing and, you know, on our honeymoon?" He paused, lifting his trident up. "Yeah, she'll be pretty surprised."
Peia smiled, subsequently letting out a breath. "You ready?"
"For this? Never." Finnick answered, shoulders slightly raising. "But I got you. And with you, I'm ready."
"I love you." She expressed.
"I love you." Finnick echoed, nodding towards the tent. "Let's head out."
The two of them exited their own tent, walking towards Katniss, Sawyer, Boggs, and the rest of the squad. Upon reaching the open flap, they were immediately greeted by shock.
"Peia? Finnick?" Katniss voiced, starting forward. "Are you with us?"
"Looks like it." He responded as she smiled, pulling him into a hug.
"That was a short honeymoon."
"Well, you know us. Can never sit still too long." Peia remarked as the brunette turned to her, enveloping her in an embrace.
"We'll just have to have one in the Capitol." Finnick mused, glancing at her. "After we take it."
"Alright. Gather round." Boggs instructed, pulling everyone's attention to him. "Squad 451, you're my unit. Lieutenant Jackson is my second-in-command. Each one of you is elite in some form of combat. But we are a non-combat unit. So we'll be following days behind the front-line troops."
"You're to be the onscreen faces of the invasion." Cressida clarified, eyes on the victors. "'The Star Squad.' It's been decided that you're most effective when seen by the masses."
"So we're not gonna fight?" Gale asked.
Sawyer rolled his eyes as Boggs turned to him. "You'll do whatever you're ordered to do, soldier. It's not your job to ask questions."
"Yes, sir."
"This is a war zone." He continued, tone grim. "You're considered high-value targets to the Capitol. In the event of capture, you'll be given a nightlock pill. A poison that acts immediately."
