"No, no, no, no." Peia panicked, eyes going round.
Finnick had begun to fall, unable to support himself any longer, but Sawyer had caught him. He gently lowered him down to the floor, leaning his back up against the wall for support.
"Shit." Peia breathed out, quickly removing her pack and unzipping it. She got what she needed, attentively turning back to her husband.
As she lowered her blade down to his leg and began to cut away the material covering his injury, Finnick cried out in pain. Peia simply worked faster, trying to ignore the gasps and screams that struck her ears.
"He's being too loud. He can't—" Gale stopped his pacing, worry flooding into his expression. "They could be right above us. He needs to stop."
Peia rapidly lifted her head. "Gale— shut the hell up."
At that, he fell silent. Cressida dropped down next to her, voice low. "What do you need?"
"Coagulant. And water." She expressed, turning back to Finnick as Sawyer and Cressida moved to gather the medkit items. Peia lifted her hand to his face, placing her left palm on his cheek. "I love you, okay? You're going to be fine."
With her right hand, she thrust the syringe into the side of his neck. Her thumb pressed down, sedative filtering into his bloodstream. Finnick's eyes fluttered closed, all pain on his face dissolving into nothing.
Peia closed her own eyes, sucking in a breath before she retracted the syringe, placing it on the ground. She turned back to his leg, peeling away the crimson soaked material. As soon as it had been exposed, any surrounding team members exhaled.
Flesh hung from the lower half of Finnick's leg, muscle and tendons distinctly visible. Without having his suit clinging to the wound, blood poured out from multiple large gashes in his skin. It spilled out onto the floor, scarlett fluid everywhere.
That was just his leg though. His knee was completely palpable as well, fear coursing through her body at the sight of his kneecap. Through various bits and strips of skin, she could see a portion of the bone.
"Baby," Sawyer expressed, forcing her to lock onto his concerned gaze. "He's going to be okay. We're going to ensure that. I won't lose another son."
Peia swallowed down the bile in her throat and nodded her head. "Okay." She murmured, forcing herself to tend to him.
It was a temporary fix, but they cleaned his leg, pouring water into the lacerations. Blood continued to leak from the incisions as they worked, carelessly entwining with water and sweat, the three weaving together. As they poured the coagulant into his gashes last, the bleeding eventually came to a stop.
