Birth Multiverse

Paperjam was having a blast!

He had no idea how to control where he ended up but that was ok, it was still fun.

He saw so many new things and finally saw an animal. He kind of missed the white place AntiVoid but with no clue how to get back, there was little he could do.

He also saw many monsters but had frozen up when he got close to one and had immediately ran away before they could say anything. He would try talking to one again later..but first, time to explore some more!

He jumped through his ink and wobbled as he landed, pleased he didn't fall on his face this time. He was getting better at this, even if he would prefer an easier method of transport.

Standing up straight he wiped his 'clothes', which was really just a large blanket he found and cut holes in. He didn't see the big deal about clothing but the one time he was spotted without any, a monster had screamed and had a rather weird expression on their face.

Maybe seeing so many bones wasn't normal?....it's not like he saw many skeleton monsters around, so that could be it.

He did get the joy of seeing his 'parents' though. It had been just like every other day, jumping in his ink and exploring wherever he ended up but this time he arrived to loud noises and rather familiar magic in the air.

When he had turned to that direction he had stared at the blue strings the black boned monster was wielding, further surprised when the monster with a brown scarf threw a black substance back.

He had no clue why but he felt an urge to get closer, to be seen by the two.

What Paperjam didn't know was that Skeleton monsters have strong family bonds especially with their offspring. It was normal for young skeleton monsters to feel an urge to get close to their parents and form a bond, as their instincts would insist they go to them for protection.

On the other side of this, as soon as the parents saw their child, they would fully form a bond with them, usually keeping the babybones beside them as much as possible to make sure they survived to adulthood.

That was of course not always the case, as rejection could occur but it was the accepted norm, especially considering how rare Skeleton monsters were.

If Paperjam had been 'born' to normal Skeleton monsters and been left alone, he would have quickly died due to lack of feeding of their parents' magic.

The babybones was incredibly lucky to survive, their unusual parentage giving them the advantage they needed to survive for so long, all alone.

Paperjam stared at the ongoing fight with mixed feelings. He frowned when the urge to get closer grew and swiftly crushed those unnatural feelings, instead taking a large step back from the two adults. He didn't need them and considering how long he had been alone, the feeling had to be mutual.

He was fine as he was...even if something within himself felt warm at being near them but he was not that desperate to be near strangers, no matter if they made him; knowingly or not.

With one last glance he left, ignoring the ache in his chest at the action.

He had seen so many places already and he was excited to see more.

Random monster: *Screech of worry for the clearly abandoned child*

Paperjam: *Oblivious to the main issue* Hmm, maybe i should get some of these 'clothes' things. That will surely help monsters stop acting so weird when they see me!
