Dream thought Nightmare being here would help matters but he fears they only made things worse.
Star has fun like usual (and nearly collapses the AU but that is less important)

Nightmare and Dream watched on as Star went on to create many new things, the clearing soon filled with even more colourful flowers and many more unspeakable horrors , both unsure what to think.
Nightmare grabbed the back of Dreams shirt when they tried to get closer to the smaller creature, not particularly wanting to incite the large wolf-like creature displeasure. He observed that while the 'wolf' looked half asleep and calmly laying down, their emotion indicated a far different truth.
He was thankful he had finished his tasks early now, worried that Dream might have accidently antagonised the creature and ended up mauled. He might love his twin but they seemed to lack some basic survival skills and their habit of staying in their AU and willingly remaining ignorant, hardly helped matters.
He on the other hand had wanted to know everything .
As soon as he awoken under mother he had begun exploring, pushing his magic to the limits to try and understand more of the world!

"You are absolutely right, Brom. I should make it even bigger. Wouldn't it be fun if this one exploded?!"
...but first he would need to make sure mother didnt end up damaged from these creatures' actions, cursing when a black withered looking plant suddenly sprung up, before exploding into ink and covering the surrounding area in a thick layer of black.
"That was amazing! Lets try and make it even bigger this time!"
That was his que to intervene, ignoring his brother spluttering as they tried to remove the ink and trying to think of an idea to distract the kid, that wouldn't end up with him getting mauled by the overly protective wolf.

Origin, in his haste to make a multiverse for Star to enjoy, accidentally missed a few key issues that he would have usually fixed if he had the time. He mistakenly added more emotion into the multiverse itself, their excitement on seeing Stars reaction bleeding into the Code and twisting it in subtle ways.
The previous one dimensional characters, that were supposed to be mere plants given monster shapes, suddenly gained more life, with even the simpler plants gaining a hint of sentience, making the place more wild and alive.
This usually wouldn't be an issue, as a multiverse was naturally rather resilient but the extra addition was enough for more complex life forms to exist and due to this, a Tree of Feelings naturally came into being.
If Origin had only looked at the Code closer they would have easily fixed and likely erased this, in fear of the possible danger to the babybones.
However, due to this slight slip up, a fun new avenue was opened and one that Brom took full advantage of, always happy to bring a headache to an Ink.
Brom also used this as a test, believing the best way to see a monsters true personality was to push them, fully expecting Origin and End to fail his high expectations on how they cared for Star.

"...brother, i know i dont usually have the best ideas but are you sure this was a good idea?"
Dream asked carefully, finally having removed that black substance but now a new worry had cropped up. He didnt usually question his twin but a part of him felt unsettled at what Nightmare had just done, a part of his SOUL screeching to stop this all now.
"Relax. Mother agreed to donate the apples to a worthy cause"
Nightmare thought that keeping the smaller creature still unsure what they were supposed to be , distracted was a worthy cause to hand over a few apples and it was much better then letting them play with their magic further and risk making more things .
He watched as Star touched an apple, shifting uneasily in place but not doing anything else. He was never sure why he had this innate fear of someone eating the apples, considering how none of the animals ever glanced at the fruit and the plants didnt care either.
Even mother never asked either twin to protect them but it just felt like something deep inside him instinctively wanted to keep them safe.
It truly was a mystery...

He shuddered at the noise the creature Brom let out, hearing near coherent words from it only adding to how unsettling he found them. He also had a feeling they were mocking him, the tongue lolling out of their maw only confirming it.
Star stared at the two apples on his lap, making a face at them as he took out a plate to munch. He handed another plate to Brom to eat but his gaze did not wander from the latest curiosity, tapping the apples and pausing when the numbers went weird in response.
He looked between the dark and golden apple, narrowing his gaze and slowly swapping the numbers between them. He hummed when the apples shuddered before they switched colours, grinning happily as he showed off his accomplishment to Brom.
"I did it! This was much easier than I thought. I wonder what else i can swap?"
He said contemplatively, grabbing a flower and trying to perform the same feat with it and giggling manically when it burst into flames, eagerly grabbing the next one to try again!
He would get this eventually but the even if the failed outcomes were funny, this much more fun than the lessons he got with Destroyer
Brom huffed in amusement as his partner played with the Code of objects, only having to intervene a few times when they accidently grabbed the AU Code. The pile of now unrecognisable apples beside them only made this even more amusing, especially with how the Guardians of this place seemed to get more horrified the longer the babybones did this.
His tail wagged at how well things were going, much better then that deeply distressing talk a few days ago.
His partner was having fun and he could sense that Origin and End were still fruitlessly searching for Star, pleased at how well he was able to hide this AU from them.
"Look, Brom! I didnt destroy this one! I wonder what else I could play with?"
" Please leave the plants alone. Wait, what are you doing with the apples this time? Did you just set it on fire, again?! Nightmare!"
He snickered again, the shiver the Guardians did in response greatly pleased him. Things truly were going well so why couldn't he stop Star from crying.

Dream and Nightmare: *Wanting to scream at the unspeakable horrors now in their home*

Nightmare: *Truly desperate and practically throwing the apples at Star* Here! Play with these instead
Dream: *Taking a large step back and warily watching Star*...are you sure thats a good idea?
Nightmare: *Reaching the end of his tether* It surely cant get worse!
Star: *Playing with the Code of the apples to a horrifying degree* Wow! This is even more fun
Brom: *Making sure Star doesn't accidently collapse the AU and amused by the twins new horror*
