Chapter 35 - Second...

Things are pretty good with me and Nick. Which is surprising, because I'm making things hard for him. I have to. I hate it when he finds a way to make things okay. I don't know if it's a good thing though.

We fight.

Almost every single day.

Why?

He's a douchebag who easily gets caught. And denies everything when I confront him and tells me such beautiful lies that I would want to hear over and over again.

It's tiring, really. And I'm the one who usually starts it. Because I hate to be hidden by things. What I hate the most is that, he hasn't told his parents we're dating.

I know right? It makes me wonder why, but I'm not pushing it. When my parents ask about us, I usually divert topics, or answer them with short satisfying answers.

I scrolled through my contacts, having doubts whether to call him or not.

I miss him.

I miss everything about him.

It has been a while since Dylan and I spoke.

Gathering some strength, I dialed his number. I hoped and prayed that he'll answer.

But kept on ringing and ringing.

It has been like this since last month.

It's all my fault.

I shouldn't have said yes, but then again what's done is done. And I have broken my own promise. But things have changed, I have to. I have a mission to accomplish: To crush Nicholas' heart

I lay back down thinking, maybe Kate and Ashley are online. I need to talk to them. And it has been awhile since I talked to them as well.

I opened my facetime app and called Ashley.

"Jane?"

"Hey, Ash!"

"Oh my god, it has been a while! Woman how are you?"

I managed to smile, "Sorry, I have been so distant."

"It's okay." she reassured me.

"God, I miss you guys. Is Kate there?"

"Asleep. We were waiting for you messages and calls. Tell me, what happened to you?"

I haven't spoken to them for a month. I truly miss them, "I... Uhh... Got busy."

"Busy dating?" she smirked.

"No!" I instantly answered. I saw her smirk, making me roll my eyes.

"Woman, I already know. You and Nick are dating." I flinched, she chuckled at my reaction, "I knew you'd look pale. Look, I saw it on Nick's status on facebook."

They're friends on facebook? Shaking my head, I responded, "Yeah. I guess you lost the bet?"

"Nope. We changed the bet remember?"

"Oh right."

I wanted to tell Ashley everything, I don't know where to start. My troubles with Nick and my communication problems with Dylan, plus school and family...

"Wow, you're awfully quiet. Something wrong?" I shook my head, "Jane?" I still didn't answer, "I know you, you can tell me."

Sighing, I managed to say, "It's just that... I haven't seen Dylan. I seldom see him in school."

"You miss him?" "Aww, but bitch seriously. Who do you like?"

"I don't like Nick."

"Then why said yes?"

"Long story. But I'll tell you it's for a good cause."

"Uhuh, okay." she looked at me in a dull way, I know she doesn't believe me. "Seriously, Jane. I can feel you're upset."

Sigh.

"I don't know, Ash. I don't understand myself either."

"Hmm, okay Jane. I'm sorry. But I have to go. It's quite late and I'm just finishing Kate's homework. She got lazy, so I finished it for her." I nodded in understanding, "Remember this Jane. If you don't like the sticky situation you're in to, you can always leave. Stop pushing yourself to the person who already hurt you in the past. Let go, move on. Start anew."

I hate it when she's right.

"You're a smart girl. You'll figure it out yourself." she added.

"I'll keep that in mind, thank you Ash. Good night."

"Good morning to you, Jane."

I ended the call and changed into my casual outfit, so I decided to have some fresh air, I jogged downstairs only to see my parents with Dylan's mom. I don't eavesdrop but I'm curious. Why is Kelly here? Why is my mother lending her money? I know that they have money. They can't be broke.

I can only see Kelly's side face, red, a tear rolling down on her left cheek. She thanked my mother and hugged her. She slowly turned her head and saw me, she smiled. I realized I'm standing by an open door.

She wiped her tear and stood, "Jane, hello dear."

"What's going on, Aunt Kelly?"

"Jane, our family is in debt for yours." she smiled and left me there standing alone puzzled.

What happened?

Could it be? Something happened to Dylan?
