Chapter 6 - Skateboarding at Rizal Park

Sun’s rays made my eyes flicker and slowly opened them. I groaned while stretching my arms and legs. I stared at my ceiling for a couple of minutes thinking about our arrival in the Philippines and what recently crossed my mind is when Nick and I had a short conversation last night. My short encounter with Nick was the last thing I planned, but to hell and God, He managed to put it first. I just hope that I made the right decision. Being mean to him was what he deserved from me, after what he did to me last year. Heck he’s mean to everyone who looks absolutely ugly, or the worse adjective that could describe the word ugly. Also those who are beneath him. He’s the jerk I fell in love with. In fact, he’s the jerk everyone loves and I hated it! I’m doing this because I was hurt so bad at that time that he was the reason I wanted to wake up dead.

Shaking my head from that thought, I slowly got up from my bed. Noticing I had the same clothes on since yesterday. I didn’t have time to shower, clearly because of my energy quickly drained and my body was so much attracted to the beautifully arranged queensized bed.

It’s a peaceful Friday, the sun’s up the birds are singing so there’s no way in hell I’m breaking this great mood. I grabbed my towel and took a quick shower. I didn’t also have much time to arrange my clothes into my spacious walk-in closet, so I took my things in my bag.

I layed out my dark-washed shorts, white sleeveless shirt with the words: “Sk8r” printed on it, my undergarments and my fave black sneakers.

I decided not to do anything with my hair, just go with my naturally straight hair look. When I see the person with my very own reflection, a smile carved into my lips. “Perfect. Perfectly simple.”

I jogged my way downstairs, and smell the sweet aroma of my all time breakfast favorite: eggs and bacon. As I descended downstairs, due to the gravity of the earth, I tripped and almost fell, good thing I grabbed the staircase’s handle, the gravity could’ve pull me down and landed on something hard and painful. Talk about making an entrance. I fixed myself again and headed straight to the dining room.

Typical morning scenario, my dad was reading the newspaper, although it was in Tagalog; my mom is probably at the kitchen cooking the food.

“Good Morning Mom, Dad.” I happily greeted a bit louder so mom could hear. I kissed my dad’s cheek as a sign of respect.

“Good Morning to you too Pumpkin pie. Someone’s in a bright mood. Did you get a good night sleep?”

“I sure did.”

“I can tell, by the way you snore last night.”

I scoffed, “Daddy! I did not snore. In fact, if someone snores louder than an elephant that would be none other than you.”

“First of all, elephants don’t snore.” he said, then he leaned closer to me, whispering something which made me giggle. “Secondly, it was actually your mother this time.”

“George.” My mom warned, my dad hides behind his newspaper, he earned another giggle from me. We didn’t noticed mom walked in, she had a deadly playful look when she glared at dad.

“Here you go my loves. Eggs and Bacon.” my mom smiled as she also took her seat.

I couldn’t help myself but dig in to that mouthwatering scent running into my nose. My mother really knows how to please us.

She then sat next to my dad and started eating too. I was practically lost at the scrumptious delicacy sitting amazingly on my plate with the most yummy taste! In fact mom’s bacon was waaay better than the last time. She just keeps on getting better and better. I couldn’t help myself but moan in pleasure, moan as the bacon landed in my mouth.
