Chapter 18 – Tell Me Something I Don’t Know

Everybody tells me I don’t know what I’m doing, this life I’m pursuing; the odds I’ll be losing. Everybody tells me that it’s one in a million, or one in a billion or one in a zillion —

“No. Fudging. Chocolate. Icecream. Way.” Those were the words that first came out of my mouth upon seeing the most weirdest yet cool contraption ever. Like seriously.

I glanced at Nick standing tall and proud on his so called achievement. The sun’s rays shone onto his sexy greek god of a face. His eyes were clearer, you could even notice his highlights on his hair. His smile widened and then turned to me with excitement in his eyes. I smiled looking at him, I never saw him in this kind of reaction. He’s like a little boy on Christmas Eve eager to open up his new present.

My eyes averted his gorgeous ones and were now set on the smooth, yet unfinished road which is right beside under the hill, which leads to a cliff straight to the deep death of waters (and no I didn’t exaggerate on the death part), with a huge skateboarding ramp at the edge of the cliff leading to the ocean.

My God, he’s going to kill us both.

“I knew you would get that kind of a reaction.” he said, exhaling in relief. I watched him ruffled his amazing hair in place. Oh my gosh he’s so fudging hot! Although I quickly fixed my composture and act cool.

I immediately shifted my gaze at the view right in front of me. We were on a hill, admiring the horizon with awe.

“This is dope.” I told him honestly. He was taken aback of my reaction. So was I. I’m even shocked why I even bothered talking to him and agreed to this deathtrap. But hey, I’m a daredevil. Danger screams my name. But what I’m pretty much bothered are Nick’s minions. “Although, care to explain why those dweebs are dressed like a...?”

“Penguin?” Nick finished with an amused tone. I held back my laughter and nodded.

“That was a penguin costume? With an annoying hat?” I asked him slowly.

He chuckled, “Actually, that was the beak.”

“And did a ten-year-old drew the so called beak?”

“Nope. That’s Chase’s. And it’s his idea to wear a costume. He says penguin suit is better than a tuxedo.”

“Hmm, Somehow I’m beginning to think that he’s not the brightest bulb in this group.”

Chuckling, he grabbed my arm and we walked down to where we stood to the road. I couldn’t help but feel the butterflies fluttering in my stomach. “Now, c’mon.” his voice suddenly entered my ears. I felt my cheeks reddened as he leads me to the way. “The plans I have today involves extreme danger and recklessness. But I promise you won’t break your leg.” he added and paused a bit. “Probably your entire body.”

We stopped our tracks and seriously though, right from my very eyes is a huge somewhat like a rat playground or something. Well it feels like a rat playground since it was huge and we’re so tiny. At the very top of the road on the hill is the starting line. Then we pass to a swirly skateboarding ramp, finally to another skateboarding ramp which leads us to our deaths, and then a rope hanging. If you look down you’ll see a huge ocean.

I gulped seeing it. “It is dangerous and reckless.” I turned to face him, but then I saw was his muscly toned chest, I immediately look up to see his face, hiding the expression I had earlier. “When did you build this thingy?”

“Well, weeks ago. And I didn’t build it myself. I have some sources.” He replied.

“Uhumm.” I nodded in understanding. He started walking to the starting line where everything will happen. I scrutinized the ramp we just passed, wishing it wouldn’t break.
