Chapter 17 – 365 Ways To Get To You

Head in the clouds got no weight on ny shoulders, I should be wiser and realize that I’ve got one less problem without you.

I only got four days til our flight back to U.S.A. I am not so sure if I really am excited to go back or not. I rolled to the other side of my bed, and grabbed my phone under my pillow.

I noticed two things: I was late for lunch and I have 3 messages.

As I opened my inbox, I saw Dylan’s messages and one unknown. I wasn’t psyched to read Dylan’s, what I’m eager to read is the stranger texting me.

From: Unknown
Message: I’m sorry :-(

I think I know who this is. I decided to ignore his message, though I can’t seem to delete it. I threw my phone back to my bed and sprinted downstairs to grab lunch or should I say brunch. The house is quiet, which is unsual. Mom and Dad were always singing about random songs and/or arguing about little things or just laugh about nonsense stuff.

Parents.

Anyway, I checked the living room but it was empty. And then to the kitchen, but there’s no one.

Slumping on the chair near the kitchen counter, I noticed there are bright yellow and red sticky notes on the fridge. I took the yellow one and read it.

Jane, your daddy and I are with the Andersons. We’re going to Forest Camp. Sorry we didn’t tell you, we noticed you were pretty tired about your afternoon with Dylan yesterday so we didn’t wake you. Anyway, cook anything you want or buy whatever you want. — ♥ Mom

P.S. Don’t use the main bathroom, your dad bombed a lot of– Okay, I don’t have to continue that. Geez, what am I suppose to do the entire day? And I’m offended since they’re with the Andersons.

Sighing, I took the red note, the penmanship was a bit messy. It looked like a guy wrote it. I giggled then read it mentally.

Morning Sleeping beauty! I have a plan for us today. Meet me at the old basketball court near the park around 1:30pm and bring this note with you. XoXo ♥

I can’t hide my smile that instantly crept into my face. Could this be Dylan’s note? Ohh. He’s so sweet. But who in this modernized world would write a note with X’s and O’s? I still think it’s sweet. I glanced on our wall clock, it was already one in the afternoon.

Feeling giddy, I went back to my room and took a shower. Afterwards I picked my white sleeveless shirt, my ripped shorts, undergarments and my high cut converse shoes. When I checked my whole look, I feel pretty good.

I took my skateboard and protection gear and skate my way to the old basketball court. The sun was scorching hot, which is a good thing. I could really use some tanning. I haven’t done that yet. So this helps.

Dylan is spending a lot of time with me now since we only got four days here til I get back. He’s cool to be with. I can tell him anything. He takes me to nice spots that I haven’t seen before. He makes me feel safe. What he’s doing right now is that he’s making my stay worth it. And I’m not regretting any of it. But well of course Nick had to ruin it and–

Woah there Jane! Why think of the dousche while thinking of Dylan?

Oh God my mind is right. I almost didn’t notice the lamp post on the way. I quickly turned and avoided it. That was close. Note to self: No more thinking of hot boys while on board.
