Chapter 14 - Me and My Big Mouth
Nick's POV

She slammed their door with pure power that their flower pot fell. Our parents stood and wondered what happened looking at me, I only shrugged as response.

Later on I went home and collapsed to my bed. As I lay down, I stared at the ceiling, thinking. It's been quite a day. I really don't understand why in this messed up world would I say something like that to her.

What's the size of your bra? God that was stupid. Jane makes me nervous. Why was I acting like a retard all of the sudden, since she arrived? Why can't I just tell her directly how I feel whenever she's around? I, Nicholas Harvey Anderson never chickens out when I ask a beautiful girl out. Never in my entire awesomeness have I been a retars because of a girl.

And damn, that was me sounding like a jerk and a pervert at the same time. I'm not like that. It's all her fault. Nice Nick. Blame it all to the girl. Fine, so it was definitely my fault for saying something that was clearly not in my mind.

She's beautiful no doubt there. Her smile always pops into my mind, her beautiful body, her mad skating skills, everything about her screams hot and dangerous. But that's not a good enough reason for me to act that way.

Her smile. Snap out of it Nick! My mind was obviously teasing me about Jane. I couldn't help it, she's so adorable.

You like her. My mind teased once again. I couldn't help it. There's something about her that makes me feel comfortable.

Don't get your hopes up bud, she's going back to America anytime soon.

Damn it brain.

I pictured out her reaction earlier and it made me sad. Why do I always have to say the wrong things? I should really make it up to her, she's leaving soon. I don't want that scumbag blond to cheer her up.

I have to do something.

"So let me get this straight, you asked Jane what the size of her bra is and felt stupid afterwards?" I nodded to my curly haired best friend. "Why? That's so-" I glared at him, "Nasty! I mean? What the hell man? At least respect the girl." I groaned at Chase's reply.

"Bro, do you like her?" Zac spoke directly making me flinch.

I called the guys to help me how to cheer Jane up. They immediately went to my house and brought boxes of pizza along. I never had this kind of girl situation in my entire life. I always get the girl I want.

"I- I... what?! No! Dude, listen to yourself! It's Jane we're talking about. You know... elephant girl." I tried to laugh at it but somehow Zac wasn't pleased. He gave me a I'm-not-buying-it look.

"Dude, grow some balls! That was a year ago. You like the girl who we used to tease a lot." he smacked my arm playfully getting comfortable on my bed. "Heck you do tease a girl that you like and throw that Nick move. Remember Cassandra?"

I was about to answer but then Chase was chuckling lowly. "What?!" I hissed.

"Nick move." he immitated Zac, and bursted out laughing. "Woooh! Haven't you realized it sounds like Dick, but the funny part is that it's Nick." he pointed at me laughing hard. This guy could be so immature. "Dick-Nick? Get it?! Dude it's so you." I whacked his head to give him some sense. I rubbed the temple of my nose trying to control my anger.

"Anyway, dude. Cassandra and I are history, okay?" I looked back at Zac, trying to ignore Chase's stupid joke on my name.

"Yeah but dude, she's still so clingy! Everyone in school still thinks you guys are together." Zac said.

"Yeah, but good thing they went to China huh? Or she'd be here still." Chase added.

"Yeah, but dude. I don't like Jane. And Cassandra? I don't like her anymore." I retorted, "I- I just wanted to make it up to her. She broke her leg because of me and I had to say something bad in front of her innocent face and ruin her day."

"Wait a minute, so you mean that Jane, your neighbor, was the fat girl who confessed to you Nick?" Chase inserted. I rubbed both sides of my head at Chase being so slow. "And now look at her! Damn."

"Chase, stop talking." Zac said with an annoyed tone, and then turned to me, "Dude, it's clearly written on your face that you like her."

"I do not and if I would-"

"Shut up." he warned, I threw my hands in defense. "Why else do you even want to make it up to her?"

"Well, s-she's leaving and I don't want to ruin her summer." Okay that was the stupidest excuse I ever made.

"That's the worst excuse I ever heard all these years." Zac said in a dull tone. "Look, if you don't like her at all, why go all the trouble making a special day for her, huh?" Damn. He's right. There's always that one person in a group who's really smart (now that would be Zac) or really dumb (Chase no doubt), or just both (and that's just me).

I glanced at my friends waiting for my answer. "Well... I- I don't know." I scratched the back of my head.

"C'mon let's just not push Nick here to tell us about his confused feelings with fat girl here. Let's just help him make a plan." Chase stated.

"You really wanted to make it up to her?" I nodded as response. "Fine. Then let's make a plan."

"Cool! Can I wear a penguin costume?" Chase chirped. Zac and I looked at him with scrunched brows. "What? It's so cool, better than a fucking tux, man."
