"You are not okay, are you?", Seungmin asked. He would have tightened his hand but he wasn't sure if she had healed completely and he didn't want to hurt her.

"I am not", Daya finally replied.

"Shall I make you okay?"

Her breath staggered and Seungmin released his hold on her, laughing quietly. "Does that hurt though?. It looks painful"

Daya cleared her throat, rubbing her fingers on the scabbed skin. "It doesn't". She got this when her necklace was forcefully snapped from her neck and although it's been a month and few weeks, it was taking some time to fade completely.

"Maybe I shouldn't have gotten a new necklace", Seungmin got her attention and she brought her hands down, looking at the open box Seungmin had placed on the desk. Her fingers delicately traced against it. "Why?. I think it's beautiful. It's beautiful"

"But.."

Daya looked at him, "It will heal faster with another necklace on it. I can get it covered too"

Seungmin stared at her skeptically. He could return it. It was refundable. He looked at the mark again. Wearing a necklace over that would only irritate it, or was he the only one who thought so?. He shut the box of the necklace and Daya quickly placed her hands over his. "I want it. Please", she pleaded. That necklace was so pretty to let go.

After much pleading, Seungmin reluctantly let it go, giving her the item that originally belonged to her. Daya opened it again, her smile growing. She asked for a star, and he got her stars. The necklace was a silver one like the former, but slimmer in chain. It had 5 stars in a cluster at the middle, as the pendant, and a little stray one at the side, joining the chains together, making it a total number of six stars. It was really beautiful and far better than the other but the first one was a lot meaningful since it was a surprise and a gift to commemorate spring break. This was just a replacement. A more beautiful one.

"What does the stray star mean though?"

"The fuck. Daya", Seungmin scoffed. "I didn't make it"

Daya looked up, "But you picked it"

"That I did. But I have no clue what it means", he honestly said, "Just give it a meaning yourself"

Daya liked the thought. She stared back at the necklace. The pendant of clustered stars was beautiful, but that stray one, was delicate. An odd but pretty star. "It means me"

Seungmin coughed. "Sorry, what?"

"Me. It means me", she repeated, staring at the stray star with so much adoration.

christ.

Seungmin felt his hand covering the other box in his pocket. There was no way that means her. The fuck. "Why do you think it's you?"

"Because it's me", Daya vaguely replied, staring at her star. It was made for her. She just knew. It symbolised her. No reason why, but she felt attracted and attached to it. She looked at Seungmin, "Clip it on for me"

He let his pocket go. "No, Daya. The skin there, isn't healed yet. Give it some time before putting it on"

Daya nodded without arguing, closing the box gently. "Thank you"

"It's alright. Are you applying something to that?", he gestured to his own neck for reference.

"No", she shook her head, dropping her box into her bag carefully, "It's healing on its own", she shrugged nonchalantly while Seungmin went through stages of disbelief.

That was the bloody reason why it was still proudly there, like a fresh wound and not a month's own. "Daya, that's not advisable. Especially as a lady. It will scar". Daya blinked. She touched her neck and Seungmin brought the hand down. "I will get you some today, alright?"
