Nari sighed in annoyance, turning off her phone, she laid it screen downwards on her tigh. If a boy named Hwang Hyunjin, could stop pestering her life for even a second, then today will be a happy day for her.

She was on her way to the Northern province. You know how Damin told her she was welcome to come celebrate her birthday at her place. Yeah. She was making use of that wish now. Nari smiled, glancing at the rear mirror she met eyes with Johnny.

Sucks that he is tagging along.

Nari had insisted on going on a bus since Daya said it was part of the experience of coming to Haryung, but her parents vehemently refused. Now, she is stuck with her driver for this journey. They didn't even let her drive.

"Ms Nari, you seem really happy", Johnny said with a smile.

Nari smiled back but it wasn't a genuine happy one. "There is a bit of sadness too. You didn't notice that?"

Johnny's smile dropped and he looked back at the road. "Your parents are just looking out for you, Ms Nari"

Nari sighed, laying her head on the tinted window. "I'm sure they are. Lovely isn't it?"

Johnny knew sarcasm alright. He smiled, glancing at the younger girl.

Lovely indeed.

"Yah, where are the four of you going, dressed like that?"

Dayeon covered her face, by dragging the old swimming face cap she had on, down. Aish. This is humiliating.

Seolran smiled at the group of women in her age grade. "Galsu-ya", she called the one who spoke, "We are going to hunt for seaweed"

"Oh. Is it someone's birthday?"

"But your birthdays have all passed, hasn't it?"

Details like this one, wasn't really private. Damin was born here. Some of these women even helped her mother in bringing her forth. Her two daughters too, were also born here. So even though they were getting old, they still knew their seasons well and none of them were born in autumn.

"Ah, the thing is..", Damin started, waving the hunting hoe in her hand. "A good friend of Daya is coming to celebrate her birthday with us"

"Ah", the women clapped their hands in unison, chuckling.

"That's good. The best seaweed for her is the one directly from the sea. It will taste better", the oldest said. They knew the worth and taste of it. "Have fun hunting. Seolran be careful out there. Alright?"

"I will. These weak knees won't give up on me anytime soon", she tapped her knees for effect.

"But who is at the shop then?"

Daya rolled her eyes. Just because they opened a food place doesn't mean they don't get to have time for themselves. "Haemoni, make breakfast for just today", she gave a tight-lipped smiled.

Seolran smiled. "You can do that, can't you?. Good to know", they didn't even reply yet. She looked at her girls. "Let's go"

Snickering quietly to themselves, they followed the old lady.

The women stood there, watching them. "I guess we are going hungry for the day"

"You can have all these instant foods they make these days"
