The tension in the house between the mother and daughter could be cut thick with a kitchen knife. Seolran couldn't understand why Daya was vehemently against Dayeon attending the same university as her. It was one of the best schools in the country, and she should be happy that her sister would be joining her there. She can finally have someone she has roots with in Seoul, with her. They will help each other like they do here at home.

"Why are you so against this?", Seolran voiced out, making Daya slowly look away from her mother and turn to her. "Tell me. I want to know. I will listen"

Will you?.

"Haemoni, I really hate the thought of my sister and I going to one school".

Lies.

She hated the circumstances surrounding it, not her sister being there with her.

Seolran stared at her, wondering if this was her granddaughter talking. A girl that absolutely adored Dayeon and the thought of sharing every moment with her. Seolran shook her head. "No. You don't. That wasn't what you said when you were leaving this town to go to college. You wished for Dayeon to come over once she was out of high-school and that's what she is doing. That's why she held unto Sungkyunkwan like this and never let go. You, Daya. Because of you"

Daya remembered that clearly but times have changed. She knew a lot of things now. She wasn't the same 19 year old Daya who said all that. All she spewed back then, were nonsense. Bull. She went to Seoul and her eyes opened. A teenage girl from a little town went into the city and everything changed. Her thoughts, her way of life, her way of thinking, her way of seeing things and her wishes. They all changed.

Everything. Changed.

"I don't want her anymore", Damin moved in her spot, away from the counter and Daya kept her eyes on her. "Why?. You wanna beat me or something?"

Seolran held her daughter's wrist back. Damin pointed a finger at her. "Dayeon. Is. Going. To. Attend. Sungkyunkwan. Wait for her there next academic year. I will bring her myself and show you"

Daya scoffed. "Bring grandma too when coming. All of you can attend there", she kicked the chair down and walked over it, climbing upstairs. Her door slammed harshly and Damin wanted to really kill her.

This house meant more to her than she ever did, right now.

"Where did she learn to become such a brat", Damin glared at the stairs where she disappeared to.

Seolran sighed disapprovingly. "Just let her be", and Damin harshly broke her wrist from her hold.

"Let her be?", She asked, not believing what her mother just said. "It's because you've been so lenient with her that she has become this disrespectful brat. That's not the kid I gave birth to. Why is she so against her sister's progress?. That's selfishness!", she turned around and left the house.

Where is she going?.

Seolran tsked. "You are the brat here. Aigoo"

She is the brat. Daya learnt from the best.

Seolran gave one thumbs-up in the direction of the stairs and another to the door.

They are all brats.

Mary's diner.

"It's here. Let's go", a girl with pink hair in two plaited low piggy tails said to her friends, placing her manicured hands on the red glass door and pushing it open.
