Chan gently and politely held the girl's hand, moving it away. He cleared his throat. They were drawing attention already. Lots of attention. Even their year mates on the side were smiling, judging or just staring. "How about we get you to step back first?", Chan asked, staring at the oblivious girl.

She raised her hands up, stepping away from his body and space. "Sorry"

Chan gave a little quirk of his plump lips, "It's alright. No hard feelings"

Chaeyoung hummed, looking away from him and almost faltering in place at all the eyes on her. Maybe she shouldn't have forgotten all the stories about how popular this boy and his crew is. They will mark her off as some girl interested in him now. She let out a really sad chuckle. "I can give you her number", she said to Chan without looking at him and resumed her walk.

Huh. Wait, what?.

Chan chased after her, that was definitely not good, but he didn't care. "You will?", he asked, drilling her side view with stares. Chaeyoung could feel that side of her cheek getting hot. "When though?", he asked as they finally left the hallway full of inquisitive students.

Chaeyoung glanced at him, "Tomorrow?"

A pretty laugh bubbled out of him, "C'mon girl. What's stopping you from dropping it right now?"

They were no longer getting a lot of attention by a huge group of students but they had few people turning their heads curiously to look at them. Maybe because they were really pretty. Chaeyoung hoped that was the case. "I need to confirm from her if I can release it"

Hmm. Wow.

"I respect that", Chan said and another glance was thrown his way. He shrugged with a smile, "That desire to protect your friend at all costs, I kind of relate to it"

Chaeyoung loosened up, crossing her hands together, "Of course you do. You've got a large number of friends", she reminded. The way she was looking at him while walking made Chan wonder if she knew where she was going. "I don't know how you put up with all of them and they are all boys"

Chan laughed, "Oh it's certainly hard. I don't recommend it for anyone"

The girl simpered. It was certainly nice to talk to him for a while, and from the look of things, the talk would last longer since it seemed like he was also heading back to the dorms.

"Yulhee will be how many months gone now?", Chan asked openly since they've left the school main grounds and walking down the roads to the campus.

"Honestly, I don't know", Chaeyoung replied, "But she is round. Round enough"

Chan pitied the girl. It looked like this other girl didn't know that two of his friends were standing in line to be the father of her friend's child when its born. "It must be hard", he whispered.

"Yeah. It is". It really was. She'd visit Yulhee almost everyday when she had free time on her and it was hard being pregnant with graduation two months away. "I like how she kept the child though. Some girls would never", she looked at Chan, "You know what I mean?"

"I do. It was brave of her to decide to keep her child. You know honestly speaking, no one bargains for a child so early but we just take them when they come, because they're humans too", he pointed out, "Yulhee carrying her child so happily despite the hardships, is a good sign that she'd make a great mother someday when her baby is eventually born"

Chaeyoung smiled beautifully, "Thank you. That'd make her day if I tell her"

He knew. Something as simple as that, could bring smiles to one's face and motivate them to keep going. "Does she have support from her family?"
