Got some funny scenes these next few chapters

Camila

Taylor drove us to the restaurant down the road and I was surprised that we weren't mobbed. Then again the public only knows about the court hearing- not all the meetings leading up to it.

"So this is my favorite Italian place- they have chicken fingers," Taylor says pulling into a parking spot right outside the building.

"You come to an Italian restaurant...... for chicken strips t," I said slowly

"Exactly " she laughed

I cracked up laughing at her, of course, she would come here for chicken strips, she probably goes to Mexican restaurants for burgers. Sliding out of the car Taylor met me around the front and looped hee sem with mine- why?

Why did I have such a hard time reading people's actions? They could go either way. But what friends kiss?

Plenty, it's 2023.

We met up with andrea inside and we were lead to a booth in the corner. It wasn't too busy today. Hopefully, it stayed that way.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" the waitress asked

"Water please," k asked

After being grilled I needed to rehydrate myself.

I graded through the menu before deciding on a shrimp pasta. I had money to pay for this but I knew Taylor wouldn't let me anyway.

"So Camila, how has your arm been feeling" Andrea spoke up.

Looking up at her she had a smile on her face, she reminded me of my mom before she went to Coke.

"It's been alright, I can't wait for it to come off in three weeks" I groaned

"Yeah then you can wash your arm, cause you stink" Taylor snorted

"Hey- do not" shot back

"I think today went well," Andrea said

I nodded not quite agreeing with her but not wanting to talk more about it. I wanted to know what Taylor's intentions were, and why am I so chicken to just ask her. Maybe I'm just oblivious.

"Yeah I'm ready for this hearing to be over, I want nothing to do with him" I snarled

"I don't blame you, sweetheart, he's done some bad things," Andrea said

I nodded and took a sip of the water that the waitress brought over.

"Are you still going to that game this weekend?" Andrea asked Taylor

What game?

"Yeah, Travis invited me so I don't wanna burn any other bridges," Taylor said sitting back in her seat.

Huh?

"Are you going, Camila?" Andrea asked

"Probably not, I don't even have a ticket for myself- I have to sit in the box" Taylor spoke out before I could speak.

"What's she going to do then," Andrea said

"I think I need to catch up on some rest and job hunting" I interjected.

Taylor swung her head to me with wide eyes

"Camila you don't need a job, you are welcome at my house anytime," she said placing a hand on my leg.

Part of this reminded me of Shawn, I reminded myself that the two weren't the same. Taylor would never.

"I know but I gotta find some sort of income," I said

I can't stay with you forever I thought.

Taylor dropped the subject when the food came out and we all began to eat. We weren't even bothered by fans or the staff. It felt like a normal group going out to eat. The shrimp pasta was to die for and I was enjoying it.

Later that afternoon Taylor and I were back at her house and I switched into a tank top and shorts, the dress was getting on my nerves. I made my way to the back porch with a book to find Taylor in the hammock.

"Hey you stole my swing" I pouted

Taylor looked up from her phone with a grin.

"There's room for you," she said gesturing to the space in front of her.

Don't be a chicken- don't be a chicken. I reminded myself. It's not even that way- friends sit next to each other all the time.

I went to get in and she wrapped her fingers around my arm and pulled me in. I ended up in between her legs with my back pressed up to her front.

STOP

I CAN'T BREATHE

THIS IS NOT HOW FRIENDS SIT TOGETHER

"Relax" she hummed

I relaxed my body to hers and stretched my legs out in front of me.

I breathed to take my mind off the face I'm in an intimate position with her.

I'm so screwed.

Taylor went back to scrolling through her phone and I opened my book and tried to read, however, I could not focus, no matter how hard I tried I kept feeling her breathing or shifting and I would lose my focus.

Shit

I set the book on my chest and closed my eyes, maybe I could just relax. I felt my body relax and go with the sway of the hammock. Taylor's hand drifted into my hair and she began twirling it between her fingers.

Now I'm screwed.

Her fingers would occasionally grab a new piece when the current one fell out and she would hit my scalp. My eyes drifted back shut and I found myself falling asleep in her arms.
