Worlds Away

Shadow had just finished showering and getting ready for sleep. All of her roommates are asleep and she's the only one who's still awake.

The girl got herself a good hearing from her fiancee after getting involved in a trouble with a nomad. But of course Shadow would not just sit back and argued back at Raze. Demanding that he stops watching her. She and Raze never really got along because he is so protective. Even his own sister is sick of it.

Shadow picks up her phone to check on the school's website. Their mess is still everywhere and they are literally the topic of the town.

But a certain comment caught her attention...

"They look good together." It said with an attached picture of her and Bright.

On the picture, Shadow is on top of Bright and that was when she pushed him which caused the domino-effect on the shelves. But instead of cringing at the picture or feeling any annoyance from it...
Shadow was scanning the picture and staring at it as if it would move. Her eyes glued at how the image caught Bright looking at her with concerned eyes and his other free hand around her waist to catch her when she lost her balance. She didn't even notice it earlier.
For some reason. Shadow gushed at the idea and read the comment over and over again.

I think I have a crush on him...

The alpha thought with a big smile.

Shadow easily falls in love with men who have good looks. And their kindness comes as a bonus. But this time seemed to be different because she's never smiled like a silly girl before. Nor stare hard at a picture of someone that isn't even her.
Or worse saving that picture into her private gallery and surfing the website to find more.

Shadow literally collected all pictures of Bright that she can find. He looks absolutely stunning at every angle and even when he was running. He's very tall and got a good physique. As well as...

"Wow! He have a big butt!" Shadow blurted out and suddenly laughed out loud. But she quickly covered her mouth while looking at her roommates. Some moved a little but didn't wake up which made her relieved.

She looks at another picture of the vampire which is a shot of him holding the door after knocking Gabriel to the ground. His face looked worried and anxious at the same time and it's just amazing how the camera captured that expression perfectly. He looks so cuteeee.

Shadow didn't realize how much she was staring at the picture not until a ringtone snapped her out of it.

She saw Elijah's name on it which is new because he never really called her first ever since their past. And usually, Shadow would feel butterflies when she sees his name and she'd feel like the prettiest queen.

But it's suddenly gone now.

Shadow clears her throat as she answered the call. She heard shufflings for a few seconds before hearing Elijah's voice who sounded like he's whispering.

"Thanks for answering the call. I need your help." Elijah said right away which made Shadow more confused.

"I told you to just call her earlier! Why'd you have to listen to him in the first place." It sounded like Nicholas' voice and he seemed annoyed too.

"Shut up! He's the one insisting not to call her. And now we're stuck here!" There's another voice that she heard and he sounded familiar too but Shadow can't remember whose voice it was.

"What's wrong?" She finally asked.

"Well. We're outside." Elijah said followed by scoffs from the guys he was with. "Bright never got back to the dorm. So we went out to look for him. Gabriel said he went to look for us but we never met Bright. And the last time we've heard from him was through the school's website." Elijah explained the situation.
