"Do you wanna go hunting with me?" Shadow suddenly asked and definitely caught the vampire off guard.

"I'm sorry?"

"Hunt with me." She said again as she walked a little closer to Bright.

The faint scent she used to have a hard time to smell from him before. Has now become very evident to her whenever she gets this close to him.
She didn't know whether Bright is just clueless that she's suspecting him and letting her do what she wants. Or he probably knew already and just won't do anything yet, unless she betray his trust.

"You look paler than normal. It's fine by me, but others might soon notice and think that you haven't drank blood for a long time." She said to him and Bright's face suddenly went frozen. As if he just realized it now.

Bright does feel weaker. He had not drank blood since he entered the school. He's either in detention or too busy to prepare for the performance. It's been centuries when he last got so busy so he didn't mind forgetting to feed himself.

"But I'm a vampire. And you're a wolf! Why on earth would you hunt with me instead of your pack?" Bright questioned and his tone sounded a little offended. He thought Shadow might be just playing him.

Is it that obvious that he wants to spend more time with her?

"I mean no offense." Shadow said with a sigh. Already expecting the reaction.

"It's just... you aren't so bad. I mean... I'm starting to even question why my people paints nomads and half bloods like enemies. When you're completely harmless..." the wolf explains and stares at Bright with a sincere gaze.

"Come hunt with me. If I can't join my pack on their hunt because of our detention. You can just come with me instead. 5 years from now, wouldn't you wanna say you had the guts to hunt with a werewolf?"

Bright's face became blank. He couldn't stop thinking of what she said especially the last part.

"I did promised to make it up to you. And I'm true to my word..." the vampire said while at the same time, observing Shadow's reaction.

"I'll go with you. But it'll be best if we keep this between us. I don't think your family will be happy to hear you're hunting with a vampire." He added that placed a smile on the wolf's face.

"Deal!"

Shadow and Bright eventually left the school premises. Shadow had to lead the way to a safe path so they wouldn't be seen together.

She is completely aware that what she's doing is wrong. That her family would be outraged once they learn what she's doing.
It's like Elijah all over again, but this time could be a lot worse.

Back then, when she was sneaking out with Elijah. She was never worried because they are both werewolves in the first place. Elijah is also an alpha born from an elite and rich family.

But Bright.

The long lost pureblood. Hunted by the whole world, especially her family.

Bright is the last person Shadow would want to spend time with. But the longer they are together, the more Shadow feels that she is just opening her eyes to the real world. Seeing the real truth that's been long hidden by her family.

The more she observe Bright. The more she studies about pureblood. It's like the lost pieces of the puzzle are being placed back again. Making everything clearer for her to understand.

Stories that has been passed down by their ancestors claims that vampires are vessels of demons. That they kill humans for sports. But the real history about them that's been written down and kept for many years said otherwise.
