"Are you sure it's here? We've been looking for hours!" Elijah complained as he stood behind Nicholas while pointing the flashlight to the shelf.
"It's here! And if you're using your eyes to help me look for it we would've found it by now!" Nicholas retorted while shuffling through the books.
"Ah hah!!!" Nicholas suddenly yells when he spotted the book he was talking about and Elijah was quick to cover his mouth.
"Shut up! We're gonna get caught!" He warned before helping the human stand up properly.
"Let's hurry back!" Nicholas chuckled and was first to walk dragging Elijah behind.
As soon as they returned to the room. Nicholas immediately started cramming the book. While the others just wait.
It was pretty late too so Emily had fallen asleep on Gabriel's bed while the vampire had to sit beside Elijah. Waiting for the human to finish reading and find anything helpful from the book.
After about two hours, Elijah and Shadow are almost falling asleep when Nicholas suddenly makes a loud noise out of excitement.
"I told you! It's here!" He said while looking at Gabriel with a cynical expression.
"What did you find?" Shadow asked while helping Bright to sit up.
He's feeling a lot better now compared to earlier. Although the mark that Shadow left still burns, it is bearable for him now.
"My dear friend. If ever we survive this, you owe me a treat!" Nicholas said to Bright in a dramatic way while pressing the book to his chest.
"Just start talking you're killing me here!" Gabriel immediately complained.
"Well! Apparently you guys happened to not be the first!" Nicholas chuckled.
"And says who?" Elijah interjected.
"Says the book right here." Nicholas sassily replied while shaking the book to his face.
"The characters names are Hope and Victor. The difference is that Victor is the alpha and Hope is the vampire."
"Their stories are from a real-life story who was the first pair from different races."
"And remember this?" Nicholas then showed a picture to Shadow and Bright who immediately recognized it at first gaze.
It looked similar to the painting they saw at the party.
"I'm pretty sure whoever made that painting at the party has read this book too."
"But anyway. According to the book, when Victor marked Hope. She did suffer side effects because her body is not immune to whatever shit wolves can do. But since it's only a mating mark, it didn't harm her life like how wolf bites usually kill them."
"The side effects are similar to what Bright is probably experiencing right now. Like body pain and severe headaches but it'll eventually go away. Especially if you're a vampire who's lived for a long time."
"What about her? Will there be any side effects to her?" Bright asked and Nicholas blinks his eyes first before answering with a sheepish smile.
"If you did mark her back. Her body will just recognize your mark like every other mark from her kin. There won't be much reaction to her because your bite isn't trying to change her."
"How credible is that book for us to trust it?" Gabriel questioned and suddenly got a flying pillow to his face.
"You're full of negativity Gab! I won't be surprised if you die bit**less!" The human mocked before he continued explaining.
