"Now you can open your eyes!"
Your friend Betty had been taking you to a surprise that she devised earlier. You didn't know what to expect, of course, until you opened your eyes. As you opened them, you saw a beautiful picnic setup, accompanied by the approaching sunset. There was no one else for miles, just the two of you.
"Betty...this is incredible! And you made all this yourself?"
"Well...I had a bit of help," Betty admitted as she chuckled.
"Really? From who?"
"Oh, that doesn't matter, let's just enjoy ourselves. I made finger sandwiches!"
And so, you two enjoyed yourselves eating sandwiches, talking about the most random things, and laughing until your stomachs hurt. You two sipped on lemonades as you watched the sunset.
"This sunset is divine," you sighed as you just stared into the horizon.
"It is, isn't it?" Betty replied before taking a deep breath.
"I love you, (Name)," Betty blurted out as she turned to you. You quickly shot your head in her direction and blushed, your face full of evident shock.
"You do?" you asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I do. And I would love if we could be a more...permanent thing?" Betty said as she pulled out a pretty black box from her pocket and opened it. You gasped, already knowing what she was going to ask.
"Betty...I-"
"(Name), I know this is sudden, and it's okay if you don't feel the same way, but...will you marry me?" Betty asked, her hopeful eyes staring directly into yours.
"I...yes! I will marry you!" You exclaimed as you hugged her.
This made Betty ecstatic. She hugged you tightly and peppered you with kisses, going on about how she was going to make sure this was the best wedding ever.
"Haha, I told you you could do it! And, what's more, I got it on camera!" Your other good friend, Simon Petrikov, came out of a nearby tree, teasing Betty about your new relationship.
"You got all that on camera?! Simon! Give me that!" Betty exclaimed embarrassedly as she tried to get the camera from Simon, but failed every time. You just watched their antics with a smile on your face.
You couldn't wait for your wedding.
