Ares

"Get ready," I say reaching into my cupboard for my suit.

"For what?' Iris questions sitting up on the bed.

She just woke up after a nap.

"I want to show you a place," I told trying to keep it a secret.

I take out a box which has her dress in it. I went out and brought it while she was asleep.

"Here's your dress love," I smile placing the box on the bed and kissing her on the lips.

She gets up to take a shower and dress in the bathroom whilst I dress myself in the meantime. I wear a black shirt with black formal pants and a black coat. I style my hair as I put on my shoes when Iris walks out of the bathroom with the dress on.

She makes the dress look perfect. I get up off the bed and walk towards her as she smiles at me nervously.

"My wife looks so pretty tonight," I compliment wrapping my arms around her waist.

"My dear husband, you also look very pretty tonight," she sasses wrapping her arms around my neck.

My lips go down to kiss hers cheerfully.

"Come, I'll hair dry your hair for you," I say walking her over to the dressing table.

I plug in the hairdryer and dry her hair one by one, feeling her black long strands slip through my hands. Her hair is so soft and shiny. So elegant and beautiful just like her. She leans forward to grab her golden hoops and put them on her ear.

"Wait, I also brought a lipstick for you," I say grabbing the bag from the side drawer.

"What is with you these days," she laughs out of shyness.

"What do you mean what is with me? I'm being a good husband," I say handing her the bag.

"Might as well put it on for me," she wishes.

I take the red matte lipstick out of the bag and open it. I twist the bottom of it so the stick can come out. She stands up on her thick long heels, now reaching up to my height. She's not short and we have a very little height difference. But she's still up to my shoulder with the heels I say.

I place one of my hands around her waist pulling her in towards me. One of her hands goes up to my shoulder whilst the other is placed on my arm. I brush the lipstick on her lips, putting the pigment onto her.

"This colour makes your lips look so sexy, sweetheart," I compliment finishing it off.

"Thank you, sweetheart," she smiles pecking my lips.

We head out of the room and out to the car. I drive us down to the Eiffel Tower and her eyes widen with surprise because she's been begging me to tell her where we're going.

"Remember how you wanted to read a book under the golden lights of the Eiffel Tower," I start grabbing the book from the backseat.

"Stop," she gasps.

The happy smile comes onto her face again and her eyes lighten up with a spark. She pulls my face close to hers to kiss me.

"Let's go," I say breaking the kiss.

She's so excited that she walks at a fast speed under the Eiffel Tower. First, we make our way to the top of the Eiffel Tower to see the city view.

"This might just be the most beautiful moment of my life Ares," she shrieks looking out into the bright city.

"Mine too," I tell looking at her.

She might just be the most beautiful moment of my life that has made time freeze for me so that I can live in it forever. Her eyes sparkled brighter than the city and she looked gorgeous. I could almost drop to my knees right now to bow this beauty the way it deserves to be.

"Let's go down to the grass area and read the book now," she instructs grabbing my hand and taking it to the elevator.

She's so happy here. This is the happiest I've actually seen her. She's a whole different person when she's happy and I like the person she is when she's happy. I'm afraid I'll lose this person once we go back home.

We take our seats on the grass like we did on our balcony last night. She sits between my arms as her back lays on my chest and I open the book to start reading it.

We're nearly done with the book. We're up to the very last chapter and I'm currently reading out Atlas' vows he has written for Lily. Something really does feel magical about this place.

I feel a new magical energy travel through both me and Iris as we sit under the golden lights of this huge tower reading one of her favourite books. She makes numerous comments between the vows. Cute comments.

"P.s. It's my wish for you to be my fish," I finish off by closing the book.

"That's so cute. Something two teenagers would say to each other," she squeals.

"Iris," I call out.

She looks up to me facing me now.

"It's my wish for you to be my fish," I repeated with a laugh.

She laughs too in response taking her hand to the back of my neck to pull me in for a kiss.

"Thank you," her voice softly appreciated.

"For what?" I ask wrapping my arms around her.

"Fulfilling my book dreams," she smiles.

I take the moment to kiss her and hold her tight in my arms. We sit under the lights and look out up to it in silence. This can really be the most beautiful moment of my life. She's staring up into the dark sky and I'm staring at her.

"I'm craving croissants," she randomly says.

"Right now?" I questioned.

"Yes."

"We'll get them tomorrow morning before we leave," I say, not wanting to let her go out of my arms.

"But I'm craving them right now," she whines.

"Ok let's go," I say getting up.

"Can you go get them, my feet hurt. I'll sit here and wait for you," she says.

"Don't wander off and keep your phone on," I strictly instruct.

She nods yes as I leave away from the sitting area into the shops' side. How do you randomly crave croissants at this hour? I laugh thinking of it in my head. There's a bakery nearby and I walk into it. Things here are so well-styled.

"Hey, can I get a box of croissants please?" I order.

"For your girlfriend?" the guy standing next to me questions.

"Wife," I laugh, looking at the baker who hands him his box of macarons.

"Girlfriend?" I ask.

"Yes," he replies with a laugh.

Then I get handed my box as well and we both head out of the bakery together.

"Was yours craving it too?" I ask.

"No. We're actually here celebrating her birthday. The whole magical city of love thing is so ideal for her," he says.

"Oh my, yours too?" I question.

I don't realise it but I follow him to where he goes. He enters into a jewellery shop.

"Are you proposing?" I ask.

"You can say that. She's not my official girlfriend yet. So I'm going to get her a ring to enhance the proposal under these golden lights in the city of love," he chuckles.

That's when it clicked in my mind that I should get a ring for Iris too. She'd love one. I look around for one.

"Fabian," he tells his name.

"Ares," I tell mine.
