"she'll make you curse, but she's a blessing."

Scarlett's POV

We've officially been home for five days. Things have pretty much settled back down. After our high flying promotion tour life is just normal again. It sort of feels weird. We are still waiting for a call to see if we have a contract we are hoping for. After all the excitement it feels we are back to square one again. I've had a pretty good morning so far. I feel extremely productive. I spent the morning doing chores on the ranch. I ate my lunch while on the phone to Jay. We've texted a lot and call at least once a day. Sometimes even twice. It's nice at the moment. Talking and having a laugh with each other have never been our problem. Neither is heat and passion. Our problem is distance. If we were in the same city, shit even the same state I would seriously consider it. He's joked a couple of times about moving but that's completely ridiculous.

After lunch I spent the afternoon in the place I love most. Prep work in the kitchen. There was a new recipe I wanted to try out. I got so lost in trying to prefect it I'm now a little later like I would like to be as I head to the dance studio. I'm not late for the class but I like to be early, get changed, set up the usual stuff. Now I only have time for one of those things, so I need to get changed. That unfortunately means relying on Rob to set up. I have messaged him to let him know what needs to be done but God knows at this point. I love the man, but I swear he's on cloud cuckoo land half the time, he tries but he gets distracted.

I hurry up and get changed as quickly as possible just in case things have gone to shit in the studio. What Rob doesn't understand is these people pay us for classes, we don't want to waste their time by spending half the class setting up. I leave the staff room to find Erin setting up.

"Do I ask?"

"He was doing it I swear but then he had a phone call." She points to the side of the room and I notice Rob leaning against the bar with his phone pressed against his ear.

"Ok, I have two questions. Who's he on the phone to and why you here lady?"

"Fuck knows, and apparently to argue with Rob."

"Helpful. You two seem to be doing a lot of that recently. Everything ok?"

"It's just us, this is what we do."

"Yeah but this seems more than usual. You know? Like what I saw in L.A."

"There's still a lot of left over shit to deal with but we will get there."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, yeah. All good. You know me."

I don't chance to press her anymore because the couples start walking in for our couples class. Rob finishes up on his call and comes over to me with a strange look on his face before he remembers himself and smiles. Erin meanwhile mumbles something I don't catch and almost runs out the door.

The lesson goes well. The song we are dancing to at the moment is 'In those jeans by Ginuwine'. It's something we have danced to before for competitions. We just have to tone it down a little. The lifts and some of the moves Rob and I do are not for amateurs. People are keeping up pretty well and we get a fair few moves into the new song we are teaching this week. As the class comes to an end, I decide to grab some waters for us while Rob says goodbye and lets the class out. When I come back over, I give Rob his bottle and drain half of mine before I start moving around to clean up. Seeing Rob isn't moving I throw my towel at him.
