"You could break my heart in two, but when it heals, it beats for you. I know it's forward but it's true."
Jensen's POV
The flight was pretty uneventful, and we are now waiting at the airport for Rob. He pulls up and we load our stuff. I've got to say it's even nice to see him again.
"So how's my girl doing?" I ask as soon as everyone else is out of ear shot.
"Your girl huh? That's what you're going with it, is it?" he says raising an eyebrow.
"You know what I mean," I try to play it cool but I'm failing miserably. If Rob can see it even when I'm not around her, these guys that know me so well are going to see it a mile away, but I've been anxious since I spoke to her earlier.
"She's ok I guess, well she stopped throwing things after she spoke to someone on the phone earlier. Wouldn't happen to know who had that effect on her would you?"
"No idea mate," I say but can't hide the huge grin that spreads across my face.
The ride to the ranch is stunning. It's outside of the city and by the lake. The views from the car alone are breath taking. As soon as we pull up the first thing we see is a massive wooden house. Rob tells us it's the main ranch house. It just looks like a cross between a mansion and a hotel to me, as far from a ranch as you can get.
Rob explains how it started out smaller than this. Until Sue and Mark, Erin, Connor and Chloe's parents. They took over back in the 90's when Mark's dad passed away and its grown ever since. Taking in all sorts of strays and letting them make their forever home on the land. Rob explains how the rest of their properties are dotted around the land at various points. Each one of them has their own houses plus there are several businesses owned by each of them. We go inside and find Erin, Haley and an older couple in the large seating area. Introductions are made from both sides, and they ask us to join them for lunch. The spread they serve us delicious and hits the spot perfectly. Erin sits next to me during lunch, and it doesn't take long before I have to ask her about a certain someone's whereabouts. She tells me Scar wanted someone time to herself after our conversation earlier. She also tells me not to worry and that she might be a little angry at first but it won't last long. God I hope she's right. I feel so nervous. Against my better judgement I decide to listen to her and Rob's advice yet again. They say Scarlett will be working in the kitchen now until later tonight for the lunch and dinner rush. The think the best thing would be a small tour and then head to the pub to eat. That way when I do see her it will be in public and she will be less likely to kill any of us.
The whole ranch is phenomenal. The landscape, the view everything they have set up. It's beyond words. I can't wait to explore over the next few days. Learn all the places Scar loves the most. We all decide it's way past feeding time and Rob steers us towards the pub on the other side of the ranch.
We enter the bar and I have to admit, I'm even more impressed, this is mostly Scar's work and definitely her baby. We take our seats in what describes as the VIP section. Not long after we take our seats a waitress walks over and hands us some menus and takes our drink order. When she brings over our drinks and asks to know what meals we want to order it's obvious she's eyeing up all five of us. Rob looks utterly fed up, she makes myself, Chris and Jase uncomfortable unfortunately Steve seems to be lapping it up.
"Steph, is Caleb working to night?" Rob asks through gritted teeth.
"Er, yeah."
"Can you go and get him please?"
