Avery, Asher, and I walked towards their Mother, Amy's vehicle. Of course, as the well- raised  gentleman I am, I opened the door for Avery, "Ladies first."

She returned the smile and mouthed, "Thank you."

We were both sat in the back of the car. Effortlessly, I recognized her hum to one of my favorite songs, Snooze by Sza. Although it was music to my ears, her humming was unbelievably soothing.

She turned her head to look outside the window and thats when I saw my chance. I snatched the right air-pod out of my ear and inserted into mine. I turned away and she looked over to me, laughing.

Watching each car pass by, I felt an arm sneakily wrap around my shoulder.

I felt the frizzes of curly hair against my skin, and instantly knew.

Peacefully, we both sang along to the lyrics of the well- known song. I'd seen Nelson's eyes flicker down to my lips more than a few, but who wouldn't?

"Ave." I heard as someone gently rubbed a thumb against my upper arm. Fluttering my eyelids open, I slowly rose from Nelson's shoulder. "Where are we?"

"Your house, silly. You took a nap when it's only four in the afternoon." He replied with those bright teeth shining within the teal braces. "I'm so tired." I rubbed my left eye, really covering the flush in my cheeks.

"I know. Come on, let's get down."

Nelson and I walked into the house. "Ash, I'm gonna help her get to bed. Where- where's her room?" I heard but couldn't reply from how sleepy I was.

"That one. Thanks man." Asher walked into his bedroom, not before pointing to the one, a couple times down from his, and giving an assuring smile.

I sat back on my bed as Nelson guided me to lean back. "Here, let me help you with that." He finished untying and taking off my converse. "Thank you, Nels. Good night." I smiled but the day came to an end when my eye lids got heavy and instantly knocked out.

Did I feel a kiss goodnight on my forehead?

I walked from the long hallway to the kitchen. "Good morning." I heard Nelson's voice and rubbed my eyes.

"Good morning you two." I returned the friendly smile and walked across the island.

"Morning." Asher had grabbed his finished plate and placed it inside the sink. He then walked into the long hallway that led to the stairs. "How did you sleep last night?" Nelson turned to look over to me. "Horizontally." I joked and we both shared a laugh.

"I slept good. I was just really tired because I had to finish my essay the day prier.." I explained.

It got quiet and I realized he wasn't listening at all; his knuckles were tucked under his chin and he was staring into my eyes.

"Were you even listening?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"What? Oh yeah, of course."

"Mhm." I smiled lightly as I put a half- spoonful of grits in my mouth.

"Can I waterfall?" Nelson pointed to my coconut water and I nodded. "Guys!" I heard Asher shout. "What happened?" I spun in the island chair. "Nelson's parents got us tickets to see Meg 2, today." He replied. "Mm, I've been wanting to watch it!" Ecstatically, I exclaimed.

"Me too!" Nelson returned the same energy.

"She said she'll send the info over in a bit. I'm gonna go shower now." Asher walked back into the hallway. "What are you wearing to the theater?" Nelson asked me. "My black Nike hoodie and- oo, I'm washing all my hoodies right now.." My eyes dropped down to the floor.

"It's okay. I'll get you one of mine." He insisted, getting up from his seat.

"Are you sure?" I asked but with that being said, he turned around and kissed my forehead. "Don't worry about it."

I fixed my hair in the tiny mirror beside the synthetic plant. I glanced through the background of the mirror and saw Nelson turn the corner with a green hoodie in his hand. "Thank you, Nels." I kissed his cheek and instantly, he turned red. Our attention went to Asher who cleared his throat under the beveled door frame. "In my kitchen?"

"Bro, shut the fuck up." Nelson chuckled, looking down with flush.

"Our kitchen, you mean." I playfully rolled her eyes with a chuckle.

Nelson, Asher, and I walked into the screening room with popcorn and snacks. I sat in-between him and my older brother.

"Let me taste yours." I looked at Nelson's red Icee. He handed it to me and took a long sip. "Mm."

"Let me taste yours." Nelson got comfortable in my seat and took a sip. "Reds better." He argued, looking up from the straw. "No it's not." I chuckled and looked back to the big screen.
