I'm not even sure what I've packed but no doubt I've definitely forgotten the essentials, I lock up and make my way downstairs to find Charles smiling at me, it's been months since I've last seen him and I suddenly feel so much more at ease as soon as I'm in his presence.
Fans crowding around while he takes pictures and signs various items, anything people have to hand - i'm pretty sure one was a throw away coffee cup?
He's pulled up in his black Ferrari pista so he was asking for it really, everyone in Monaco knows who that car belongs to, he has cars much more low key than this he could have arrived in, I think sometimes he forgets that he's famous.
Throwing my suitcase awkwardly beneath my feet with my legs propped on top of it, as there's nowhere else to put it in this extremely impractical (yet beautiful) car, we set off to Charles apartment.
He lives on the quieter side of town, away from the hustle and bustle of the casino and the main tourist area of Monte Carlo, it's so beautiful and closer to the hills. This way he can go for a morning walk or run usually without being bombarded.
"We will need to clear out the spare room when we get in, it's a make shift gym at the moment Lil" he says.
Brilliant - I suppose this means we're furniture building too? There's not much else we can be doing in lockdown anyway, it might be quite fun.
We walk in and the place seems colder than it was when I was last here, it's pretty much all white and very much looking like a bachelor pad, I expected to see Charles girlfriend when I arrived but she's not here, and their pictures seem to have gone from where they last were.
"What happened with you and char? Why isn't she here and where's everything gone?" I ask.
"We broke up about a month ago, things just weren't working out with us anymore, we're still friends."
Why didn't he tell me? This is a pretty big deal considering they've been together for almost 3 years. It's not like Charles to not tell me pretty much every detail of everything going on in his life - sometimes details I absolutely did NOT need.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
He doesn't really respond with words, just nodding at me - I give him a hug which lasts a little longer than I was expecting it to, but I just seemed to not be able to let him go. Id really missed him and something just felt different. I just didn't want to let him go.
He wraps his arms around me tightly, and we stay there for a while just happy to be each others comfort.
"Ok lets sort your room or you'll have nowhere to sleep" he says.
We begin moving gym equipment from his spare room out into the storage cupboard, which was already full of random items he really should have got rid of already, and eventually we were left with a nice empty room.
At this point it was already 11pm and we were both exhausted, there's NO WAY I am building a bed at this time.
L: "I'll just stay on the sofa tonight I don't think I can physically stay awake long enough for us to build the bed"
C: "Absolutely not. Go and get into my bed and I'll build the one in your room so it's ready for tomorrow."
He was always so sweet, I didn't want to let him stay up and build the bed on his own but he really didn't take no for an answer.
I open my suitcase and start getting things out, quickly to realise that I've brought absolutely no pyjamas, socks, or underwear?
Am I 21 or 12?
I knew I'd forget basically everything I need and end up with a bag of nothing but clothes and shoes. I usually sleep with nothing on in my defence but that wasn't going to be acceptable here.
There's a knock on Charles' bedroom door, "Here's a T-shirt and some shorts as you probably brought nothing to sleep in."
He was absolutely right.
