Alice's *POV*
I don't think I heard her right, maybe I did and maybe I didn't. But Cameron's reaction to this proves everything I was ever afraid of. She's part of his past, and from where I'm standing, she was a huge part. Memories of Jack talking about how much he loved her, and how Cameron had something to do with her, flood my mind. Is it possible that they were together, together? My mind begins to get the worst of me, and before I know it. I find myself speaking to her.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Alice." I force a smile. I can feel Cameron's dark gaze burn through me but I try to brush it off as she pulls me into a bone crushing hug. Wow... She's quite friendly.
"So, are you guys coming over to hang out with us or what?" She giggles. I can't even look her straight in the eye. I hardly know her, and I know it's not good to judge a book by its cover, but theres just something about her, something that won't allow me to fully trust her.
"Maddy, I said I was leaving." Cameron grows, protectively gripping onto my wrist.
"It wouldn't hurt if you guys stayed just a little longer, right? Besides I just got back from New York, and there is so much we need to catch up on." She may think she's fooling me, but I can see right through her fake smile.
"I said no, now fuck off!" Cameron's rude words lash at her and I snap my head up at him. It is completely unnecessary to treat her this way... Im not appealed to her either, but what the hell did she do in order for him to behave this way?
"Cameron!" I warn through my teeth, but he doesn't even bother to look down at me.
"Don't worry, I know how he can be, typical Cameron." She laughs softly, clearly amused. But personally I don't know what there is to be amused about. If he were speaking to me that way, I would have stood up for myself.
"Alice lets go." Cameron harshly tugs me away, making me lose my grip, and as the idiot that I am, the next thing I feel is my knees and hands face the disgustingly dirty ground.
"Ouch," I groan in pain.
"Shit." Cameron hisses, as I tempt to get up. "Are you okay?" His hands wrap around my torso, attempting me up.
"Don't touch me." I warn through my teeth, repulsing away from his grip. "I can get up myself." I wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for him.
"Alice, you okay?" Travis asks, standing next to Maddy.
"Yes, I'm fine." I roll my eyes, standing up from the ground, whipping my scrapped knees with the pals of my hands. Im bleeding a little bit, but its nothing to worry about.
"Are you sure?" His voice shows concern making my annoyance diminish slightly.
"She said she was, didn't she." Cameron snaps firmly, and I shoot him a glare.
"Okay," Travis raises his hands in defense, "so Alice, I see you've met my sister." Travis smiles, taking a large gulp of his drink.
His sister?
"Maddy's your sister?" I arch a brow appalled.
"Yes," He laughs softly, Maddy joining in. "I know Im much better looking, so I don't blame you if you don't believe me." He jokes, and I laugh softly.
"Shut up Travis!" Maddy slaps his shoulder playfully. I can tell they have a close bond.
"No, it's not that, I just I don't know..." I shrug. Frankly, I don't know why Im so surprised. Their resemblance is evident, except for the fact that Maddy's skin isn't covered in tattoos, like Travis's. And her eyes are honey hazel, unlike his that are a forest green.
