There was a silence that filled the air, making it hard to breathe. Everything felt slow motion for a second, as Shawn glared at Lauren, and gasped at me. His eyes showed remorse and regret, but more then anything hurt. I looked at Shawn dead in the eyes, and he stared back, his lips pressed into a hard line. Lauren wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her lips into his the creek of his neck. My breath hitched as I looked away. I stood still feeling, as if I were in a daze as he was inches away, while Lauren kissed his skin. And thats when something happened.... A game changing feeling, I had never felt for him before...

"Well?" Lauren glared at us, snapping me away from my tangled thoughts.

I shook my head twice, snapping away from what I thought I felt. It was probably one to those 'in the moment' type of things, nothing more. It has to be nothing more.

"What are you doing here? I though I told you to stay in the car?" His brows furrow in dismay, as Lauren tries her best to give him an innocent smile.

"It was getting really hot, and you took too long." He sighed annoyed. "I mean, seriously Shawn, how long does it take to get your Jacket?" She rolls her eyes as he scams his body. "Where is it anyway?"

So thats why he really came, to get his jacket...

"In Jack's room." He replays dryly, his eyes never leaving my hurt ones.

"Well, what are you waiting for, silly? Got get it." Her perky voice went sky-high. She tried too hard to be 'cute,' and it was beyond annoying. I didn't have a problem with her, but she always appeared at the wrong place, in the wrong time.

"Give me a second," He tried to pull away from her grip, but she didn't allow it, she only held on tighter. I had to force myself to look away, because despite the fact that she was the one who interrupted our conversation. I feel like I am now an intruder, inviting their privacy.

"Why? Oh yeah, I am so sorry. I can be so oblivious sometimes." She giggles at herself. "Hi Alice," She smiled, finally acknowledging my presence. "Were you guys in the middle of something?" She asked, and I couldn't help roll my eyes.

"Yes," I respond sternly. "he was in the middle of saying something important." I raise an eyebrow, not attempting to hide my dismay for her. If I were in a better mood, maybe not in a hospital after just meeting Cameron's family under terrible circumstances, and not arguing with my childhood best friend, then maybe, just maybe, I would try to force a smile for her sake. But since I'm not, I have no problem showing how fucking annoying she is.

"Oh, right! Well, go on, act like I'm not even here." She smiles, still holding onto Shawn left arm.

"Excuse me?" I don't think I heard her right.

"I said, act like Im not even here. Whatever you have to say to him you can say in front of me. I am his girlfriend after all." She stated, making sure to enhance the word girlfriend, and thats when I snapped.

"Well, maybe if you actually left, it would make thing much easier don't you think?" I barked, and she flinched back behind Shawn, like a scared little puppy.

"Hey!" Shawn yelled, his eyebrows knitted together in anger. "Don't fucking talk to her like that!" He yells leaving me speechless. My eyes fluttered rapidly, taking in his harsh words.

"W-Why... why are you being so cruel?" My voice came out much lower then intended, and I wanted to cry, as his venomous eyes glared at me.

"Because you're being a bitch to my girlfriend." He snapped. "You have no right to speak to her like that."

Did he just call me a...?

His words made me lose it completely, and I couldn't stand here letting him humiliate me in front of her. I began walking away from them both, the knot in my throat growing larger as I took larger steps back to Cameron's room. I didn't expect Shawn to follow after me, and he didn't.
