*Alice's POV*

I could barely get myself out of bed this morning. It's past 5:30 and I haven't even showered. Jack said he'd pick me up tonight at 7:30 so I still have some time.

I decide to take my time and get ready. I do my usual makeup routine, but I add a darker eyeshadow in the crease of my eyes. I curl my hair with a wand. It comes it more like waives. I know this is a party, but I don't want to wear a dress. So instead I put on a strapless top, and some light-wash jeans, and throwing on my usual black booties.

The doorbell rings shorty after 7:20 and I head downstairs to get it. I open the door expecting to see a tall buff male figure. But instead I see Matt?

"Hi Alice," he smiles as he leans against the doorframe.

"Matt? Uh, what are you doing here?" I ask confused.

"Oh, well I guess Jack forgot to tell you. But he asked me If I could pick you up tonight. He was busy setting up and stuff." He shrugs like it's no big deal. Yet it kind of is, how can Jack forget to tell me?

"Yeah, he did forget to tell me." I tell him, annoyance in my voice. I can't help but feel like he suddenly doesn't care.

"Don't take it personal, he was just busy." Matt says, reading my mind.

"Yeah, I'm sure he was." I sigh. "But It's fine, Matt. You didn't have to bother, I can drive my car over there." I reassure him.

"Oh, it was no bother at all." He shakes his head. "I can give you a ride, I mean that's why I'm here right?" He smiles.

"Yeah, but I should probably drive my own car tonight." I shrug, not giving into the idea of going with him.

"C'mon! I haven't seen you in a while, it's a long drive, and It can give us time to catch up.." He attempts to persuade me . "Plus I drove all the way over here... You know you want to." He says wiggling his eyebrows up and down, while his lips hold a smug smirk. How could I say not to that?

"Okay, fine.." I finally give in.

"Yes!!" He cheers, as he does a little victory dance, making burst into laughter.

"I forgot what a big goofball you are." I say in between laughs.

"That's me." He chuckles.

"Okay, I'll be right out, I just need to get my purse." I tell him before rushing over to the kitchen where my purse was. I quickly cross it around my body before running back to the door. But when I reach it, I see Matt speaking on the phone with someone. I know it's wrong, But I couldn't help overhear their conversation.

"Yeah, I'm on my way there." He tells the person.

"Yes, I know what to do." He sighs frustrated. Whoever he's speaking to must be irritating, so much to irritate Matt.

"Man, are you sure about this?" He questions, making me even more curios on who he's speaking to." I can't really mimic the persons voice but I know for a fact it's a guy, Matt called him a 'man'.

"Okay, yeah I know what to do." He says before hanging up.

Well that was a very mysterious phone call. I wonder who that was?

I clear my throat awkwardly as I pretend to just be walking to the door. He wouldn't be too happy to know that I overheard his phone call. Whatever it was, it's really none of my business. So decide to push it away from my thoughts, I'm determined to have a good time tonight.

"Ready?" I ask as I close the door behind me.

"Yup." He nods, as we head to his car, and as the gentlemen that he is, he opens and closes the door for me.
