𝟰𝟰. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 {𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂}

Esme sat in the nursery that Jackson had set up. She had hardly slept. All that she could think over was her baby and how that it was unlikely that she was going to carry her baby much longer.

Esme knew that this wasn't how it was meant to be. She and Jackson were suppose to have a healthy baby and make it work and it wasn't meant to be this way. And wiped the tears from her eyes as she sat on her rocking chair that Jackson had built. She healed a teddy bear close to her chest as she looked to the empty crib.

The crib that she wouldn't get to fill. She placed a hand on her bump and looked to see Jackson as he walked in. He walked over to her and pulled her into his arms

"Have you slept" he asked as she shock her head

"No. Every time I did I thought of him. Our baby. I dreamt of an empty blanket and I couldn't see him. It's not fair, this isn't how it was suppose to be. This isn't how we were suppose to have a baby. This isn't fair" she sobbed as Jackson wrapped an arm around Her and held her close

He knew how he was trying to stay strong for her and he knew how it wasn't easy. "I know baby. I'm here okay we will get through this together I promise" he said as she sobbed

He knew how he wasn't coping and he knew how he had got Chloe to call Addison Montgomery but Chloe had no idea what was going on

"I made a call to Addison. I know they were have pretty much accepted it but I think we need to know for sure" he said as she nodded

She stood up and rested her head into his chest and sighed as he held her close and kissed the top of her head

"All I've ever wanted to be was a mom and I feel like it's being taken away. None of this is fair" she sobbed as Jackson held her close as he tried to fight back his own tears

"No it's not fair at all" he said

Esme sat in the attendings lounge with the rest of the attendings. She glanced over to Jackson as the two of them made eye contact as he smiled to her. She glanced away from him and smiled to herself. She knew they work was the last place that she wanted to be but she needed a distraction from everything

"I have one last thing to say.Some of you, uh, may run into Arizona Robbins today.It's her first day back.So if you see her, just make her feel welcome." Owen said

"Or maybe ... maybe just don't make a big deal at all. It might be better." Callie said

Esme smiled to herself. She was glad that her mom was back to work but she knew that she needed to see her mom and speak to her other her baby

She glanced to Chloe who was looking at her concerned and smiled. She knew that she had to tell Chloe but she didn't want to not when she didn't have the results back. She knew that it was all too much and she didn't want to have the conversation until she had too

"Noted. Thank you.Oh, oh, hold on. I just want to address one more thing.Um, most of you are aware that a group of our doctors have filed a lawsuit against our hospital.Some of you may be wondering what this all means and how it's gonna affect our staff.I'd like to be clear.It doesn't ... at all.Let's just let the lawyers worry about that.That's their job.Our job is to continue to work together and support each other in giving the great standard of care that we have always given.Let's not let something like this get in the way of that.Thank you." Owen said
