They swayed to the music, their bodies moving in perfect harmony, lost in the rhythm of the moment. The world seemed to fade away as they held each other, and Jennie felt a warmth spread through her, a feeling she couldn't quite describe. Their closeness was intoxicating, and every touch sent a shiver down her spine.

However, their dance was abruptly interrupted by the insistent ring of Taehyung's phone. He sighed in frustration, his expression shifting from joy to annoyance as he retrieved his phone. "Do you mind if I excuse myself for a moment to take this call?"

Jennie nodded, trying to hide her disappointment by the interruption , "Yeah, of course, take your time."

As Taehyung walked away to answer the call, Jennie found herself approached by a familiar figure – her best friend, Rosè. "I thought he was never going to leave you, girl. He is so into you, bitch."

Jennie's expression changed into an annoyed one "Oh, shut up. We were just dancing."

"Mhm, sure. So, business partners dance this close, huh?"

Jennie rolled her eyes. "Fuck that. Why are you so damn late?"

"Hey, it's not easy being a doctor. I'm always in surgeries. You should be grateful I'm even here."

Jennie couldn't help but smile, "Oh, please."

Rosè laughed, "Let's get back to Mr. Hottie. Did you guys kiss yet?"

Jennie's eyes widened at her friend's remark, "No! We didn't. He just made a deal with me."

Rosè's eyes piqued with curiosity, "A deal? What kind of deal?"

A blush made its way to Jennie's face. "He said if he charmed me enough, I would have to dance with him."

Rosè had a mischievous glint in her eyes with a teasing grin plastered on her face. "So, did he charm you?"

Jennie looked down to hide her flustered face, "Yeah, he did."

Rosè laughed, "Damn, you were right. He's even hotter in person. Oh, wait, he's coming back."

Taehyung approached the two girls after finishing his call, but his demeanour shifted as soon as he spotted Rosè next to Jennie. The warmth that had been there moments ago seemed to vanish, replaced by a cold and distant expression. Taehyung was known for being guarded around people, often reserving his smiles and smirks for moments spent with Jungkook or Jennie.

"Sorry, it was a call from work."

Jennie smiled up at him, "It's okay, no worries."

"And who is this?"

"I'm Rosè, Jennie's best friend. You must be Kim Taehyung, the one she's been telling me about."

"Yes, that's me."

Rosè extended her hand towards Taehyung. Taehyung shook her hand with a polite nod, his gaze briefly flickering between the two women.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Taehyung. Jennie here talks about you all the time."

"Is that so? Hopefully, she's only saying good things."

Jennie playfully nudged Taehyung's arm. "Of course, only the good stuff."

Taehyung's lips curved into a faint smile, and for a moment, the tension seemed to ease. But the atmosphere around the trio remained somewhat tense, a palpable undercurrent beneath their polite conversation.

Rosè noticed the tension between them, "Well, I won't keep you two from enjoying the party. I'm going to grab a drink. Nice meeting you, Taehyung."

"Likewise, Rosè."

As Rosè walked away, Jennie turned her attention back to Taehyung. "Sorry about that. Rosè has a way of... being herself."

Taehyung's eyes softened as he looked at her. "No need to apologise. I understand the protective best friend act."

"She means well, though. She's just looking out for me."

Taehyung nodded, "I can tell. She cares about you a lot. By the way I realised I don't have your number."

"Oh, right. Here, let me give it to you." Jennie took out her phone from her clutch and quickly exchanged numbers with Taehyung. Their fingers brushed against each other's as the phones were handed back, sending a small spark of electricity between them.

"Thanks. Now you can't escape from my charming messages."

Jennie chuckled softly, feeling a pleasant warmth spread through her cheeks. "We'll see about that, Mr Kim."

"You can call me Taehyung Miss Jeon."

"Taehyung, then. And you can call me Jennie." His name rolled off her lips in a way that felt strangely intimate, considering they had only known each other for a short while. Yet, the familiarity was undeniable, as if their connection was destined.

Taehyung smiled, his eyes holding a mixture of playfulness and something deeper."Jennie, it is."

"You know, I have to admit, I was surprised to see you at the party tonight."

Taehyung's eyes had a hint of curiosity, "Oh? And why is that?"

"Well, you strike me as someone who's not exactly the "party" type."

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, expressing offence."Are you saying I'm not fun?"

Jennie burst into laughter, shaking her head. "No, no. I'm just saying you seem more like the mysterious and brooding type."

Taehyung chuckled, a glint of amusement in his eyes. "Well, maybe I wanted to show you a different side of me tonight."

"Is that so?"

Taehyung's gaze held hers, and his voice turned softer. "Or maybe I just wanted to be near you."

Jennie felt her heart skip a beat at his confession. There was an undeniable magnetism between them, something that went beyond the surface. She found herself falling deeper into his charm, her curiosity and feelings growing with every passing moment.

As the night drew to a close, Taehyung walked Jennie to her car. "I had a wonderful time tonight, Jennie."

Jennie smiled, her cheeks tinged with a rosy hue. "I did too, Taehyung. It was unexpected, but I'm glad you came."

Taehyung's hand reached out, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Before I go, there's something I want to do."

Jennie looked at him, her heart racing in anticipation. And then, with a tenderness that took her by surprise, Taehyung leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight, Jennie."

Jennie watched him go, her heart fluttering with a mix of emotions. As she drove home, her mind was filled with thoughts of Taehyung and the beautiful revelation of a connection she hadn't expected to find at the party.
